Adele will grace Golden GlobesAs much as we respect Adele's refreshing commitment to staying out of the spotlight, it has been a while since we've last seen her. Granted, she's been busy as a new mom to her baby who arrived in October, but on Sunday she'll make time for her fans across the pond. With her song "Skyfall" nominated in the best original song for a motion picture category at this weekend's Golden Globes, Adele is said to be preparing to make her first post-baby appearance at the ceremony. According to Us Weekly, the 24-year-old singer - whose album, "21," was the best-selling album of both 2011 and 2012 - hasn't walked the carpet at an event since she went to the Brit Awards last February.

Taylor Swift turns 23 with Globes nod ... and Harry Styles?With a Golden Globes nomination in the best original song category for "Safe & Sound," Taylor Swift has twice the reason to celebrate Thursday, which is also her 23rd birthday. "Best birthday surprise EVER-just found out that Safe&Sound is nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE!!" Swift tweeted the morning of December 13. But according to People magazine, the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer may have started the festivities earlier in the week with her rumored new beau, One Direction's Harry Styles.

The nominees are in for the Globes - check out their reactionsAny planned weekend fetes are getting started early for some of Hollywood's major players as we cap off a week of nominations. Over the past two days, films like "Lincoln," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Argo" and "Les Misérables" have reveled in nods while TV shows like "Homeland," "Downton Abbey," "Modern Family" and "Breaking Bad" have reaffirmed their status as critical favorites. All of the recognition has left Jennifer Lawrence, a darling of critics and everyday fans alike, a little stunned. The 22-year-old actress has earned both a SAG and a Golden Globe nod for her work in David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook," which is also up for the best comedic motion picture Golden Globe.

Nominees announced for 70th annual Golden GlobesThe nominees for the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards were announced Thursday by Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Ed Helms. Steven Spielberg's epic on the 16th president, "Lincoln," stood out in the film categories with seven Golden Globe nominations, followed closely by Ben Affleck's "Argo" and Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained." On the TV side, HBO's "Game Change" continues to shine this awards season, picking up a total of five nods. Showtime's thriller "Homeland" earned four, including two nods for its leads, Claire Danes and Damian Lewis. The awards ceremony, to be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will air January 13 at 8 p.m. ET/5p.m. PT. Check out some of the nominees below - who do you think are clear bets?
