  • U.K. music fans have been anxious to hear Ed Sheeran "Sing." His June 23 release "X" has become the fastest-selling album of 2014 in the U.K., surpassing Coldplay's recent offering. [Billboard]

'True Blood' turns up the heat with dream sex scene

"True Blood" is ending its seven-season run with a bang. Or, at least, a pretend one.

Sunday's episode, "I Found You," featured a dream sequence that left viewers swooning - and not just because Alexander Skarsgard's Eric finally made an appearance.

'Pacific Rim 2's' release date, and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • You know a movie's a big deal when its release date is three years away. That's the case with the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim," which will be directed by Guillermo del Toro and released on April 7, 2017.
    • Speaking of sequels, Frank Darabont is going to direct the "Snow White and the Huntsman" follow-up ... but Kristen Stewart isn't expected to return. [The Wrap]
    • Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley is back on the job in the Motor City. "Beverly Hills Cop 4" will be filmed in Detroit and released in March 2016.
    • Peter Capaldi will officially start his reign as the new "Doctor Who" on August 23.
  • If you see an even more insane amount of social media updates from the Kardashians this weekend, it's because it's Khloe Kardashian's 30th birthday. Yes, that's rapper French Montana in the photo celebrating with her - he's rumored to have bought her a diamond-encrusted ring, a diamond grill and a car. [E!]

Phil Collins gives Texas huge Alamo donation

Phil Collins is British, but he held in his possession some prized American artifacts.

According to the New York Times, the musician has a longheld love for memorabilia from the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, and had cultivated a massive collection of items from the landmark event. (His passion runs so deep he even wrote a book about it: "The Alamo and Beyond: A Collector's Journey.")

And on Thursday, he donated more than 200 of those items to Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and the state of Texas.
