If we had Shailene Woodley's massive head of hair, we'd tear up if someone came near us with scissors, too.
The 22-year-old actress had to chop off her lengthy locks for the June release "The Fault In Our Stars," and as a new video clip shows, she got a little emo about it.
As a stylist cuts through the star's thick ponytails, Woodley can't even watch. When she finally does remove her hands from her face to see evidence of all the hair that's just been removed, the actress had tears in her eyes.
"I might cry so hard you guys," Woodley warns her stylists. "I'm so afraid to look."
By her own admission, Woodley was attached not just to her hair but what it represented.
“For the past five years I’ve been on an I-want-to-grow-my-hair-as-long-as-possible kick … About half way through my hair-growing escapade, I began to deeply look at WHY I was so keen on creating flowing locks down my spine,” she said in a Tumblr post prior to her haircut. “I finally came to the conclusion that hair, for me, was a symbol of strength … For the longest time, I was committed to never chopping it off. Cut to: now. On Saturday, it will be the shortest it’s ever been. and I feel so relieved, so ready, so dedicated.”
She also made sure all of that hair went to a good cause, donating it to Children With Hair Loss.
