Tuesday brought the biggest "Star Wars: Episode VII" info dump we've had in a while, and it managed to do so without really telling us anything at all.
For example, we know who's been cast - but not who they'll portray. And while we know a little about the background of some of the movie's newer names, actor Daisy Ridley is so unknown the best pictures of her are her headshots.
As Deadline Hollywood notes, Ridley drew the most interest when the casting announcement arrived because she was one of the few names that we hadn't heard yet, not to mention she was the only other woman announced along with Carrie Fisher.
The likely casting of John Boyega, Adam Driver and Peter Mayhew had been circling for weeks, and the involvement of "Star Wars" veterans like Fisher and Mark Hamill seemed to be a near certainty. But along with actors like Oscar Isaac and Max von Sydow, Ridley was one addition we didn't see coming.
The J.J. Abrams-helmed feature doesn't arrive until December 2015, but it's already Ridley's most well-known project. Aside from "Episode VII," Ridley's other work includes a few appearances in TV shows and a horror film called "Scrawl" that's supposed to come out this year.
The British actress is "highly skilled" in tap and jazz dance, and can hold her own as a jazz singer too, according to her agency's profile page. While Ridley can pull off a Cockney or Dublin accent, we don't think she'll need to apply to them to her new "Star Wars" gig.
As for what she may play, the speculation is endless. But given her possibly strategic placement between Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in a photograph of a table read, the Internet's thinking Ridley will portray the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia, Jaina.
