With his plan to appear on both "Good Morning America" and "Live! With Kelly and Michael," Michael Strahan is going to need lots of coffee.
Thankfully, his new co-workers at ABC's "GMA" are a thoughtful bunch, as they presented the former pro athlete with a coffee mug twice the size of his head when he debuted on the morning program Tuesday.
"This is the only coffee cup that makes my hands look small," he joked. "So thank you. If I drink all of this there will be one heck of a morning in America, I'll tell you that."
Lara Spencer seemed particularly thrilled to see Strahan making his debut on "GMA," as she gave him a standing ovation and a hug after he walked onto the set.
Unfortunately for Spencer and viewers at home who are just as excited to say "Good Morning, Michael," the football player-turned-media is only doing "GMA" a "couple days a week," as the "GMA" team continuously reiterated.
To help him transition, the "GMA" team also gifted Strahan with an alarm clock. It's expected that Strahan will show up to lead stories he's passionate about in the first hour of "GMA" before heading back uptown to hang out with Kelly Ripa on "Live."
