"How I Met Your Mother" seemed to take a dark turn last week when the episode hinted that the series finale was going to wind up with a heartbreaking death.
Fans of "HIMYM" have theorized for awhile that the reason Josh Radnor's Ted is even telling this nine-year-long story about how he met his wife and mother of his kids is because she's actually dead.
It's just logical enough that it makes sense, but "The Mother" herself, Cristin Milioti, is claiming that's too morbid.
"That's insane," Milioti bluntly told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview. "There are some crazy conspiracy theories ... (but) that's really intense."
While it's true that Milioti could just be trying to throw us off course, she assured THR that creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have "had this vision for nine years" on how the show will wrap, and that the ending is "in great hands. They know exactly what they want to do."
We'll find out if our theories are correct when the series finale of "How I Met Your Mother" airs on CBS March 31.
