FX: 'Justified's' ending as 'Louie' returns

First, the bad news: FX's top-notch drama"Justified" is going to end with its sixth season.

The network announced the news at its Television Critics Association panel on Tuesday, but smoothly countered with some good news: two new pilots are in the works, one starring Michael Cera and the other starring Zach Galifianakis.

Cera's pilot, "How and Why," will be written by Charlie Kaufman. Also starring John Hawkes (we know, we're sold already too), "How and Why" will follow a man who's brilliant when it comes to science but is lost in life.

According to Variety, Kaufman's going to both write and direct the half-hour pilot, which is expected to begin shooting in North Carolina in the spring.

"Hangover" star Galifianakis, meanwhile, is cooking up a comedy with FX darling Louis C.K. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Galifianakis star in and executive produce the still-untitled project, which will be co-written by C.K.

Although details on that comedy were slim, FX did confirm that the return of "Louie" isn't too far away. The fourth season of the comedy will premiere after a long hiatus in May.

This isn't its final season, it just started airing its fifth season last week, the 6th and final season will be for 2015. And it wasn't cancelled, Olyphant and the creator of the show decided to hang it up.

Thanks for the reminder that this is just season 5. Love Justified, and it is true, the best shows know when to wrap it up. And, taking charge of when that is gives the writers, producers, and actors time to do it right.

To bad the good show is being cancelled to bring on some mind numbing crap, figures.

As a fan of Justified I'm sorry to hear it's going to be cancelled. I wonder whose bright idea that was? It's a great show with a great cast, and it will be missed.

Justified is the best show on tv by far. Nothing comes close! This season and just one more and it is done, but at least it will go out on top. This is the best adaptation of Elmore Leonard yet, and I never thought Jackie brown would be topped.

As a fan, I am sorry to hear this will be the last season of the show. It has been a very enjoyable series with a number of great performances. Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins have been fantastic in their respective roles and will be missed. I hope they are considered one last time at the next Emmy Awards.
