In the new trailer for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," Andy Serkis' Caesar is ready for war.
The follow-up to 2011's "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" begins a decade after a lethal virus was unleashed, leaving a small band of human survivors seeking to regain a status as the Earth's top species.
"We’ve been through hell together. We spent four years – four years! – fighting that virus and then another four fighting each other. It was chaos. But you all know what we’re up against," Gary Oldman tells his comrades. "It's not just about power. It's about giving us the hope to rebuild and reclaim the world we lost."
Unfortunately for those survivors, including ones played by Oldman, Judy Greer and Jason Clarke, Caesar doesn't seem interested in letting that happen.
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," directed by Matt Reeves ("Cloverfield," "Let Me In"), is set to open on July 11, 2014.
