The fate of the 'Maltese Falcon,' and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • The "Maltese Falcon" is one classic that's become more valuable over time - and we're not just talking about the movie. The prop statue that was at the center of the 1941 film starring Humphrey Bogart was sold for more than $4 million at an auction. [Time]
  • Ugh, this is sadness: Frankie Muniz has tweeted that he's suffered a second mini-stroke, almost a year to the date after his first one. [Frankie Muniz's Twitter]
  • We know Adam Brody has done much more outside of "The O.C.," but we're not going to lie: we're hoping his scheduled guest appearance on "New Girl" will be as Seth Cohen somehow bringing a belated Chrismukkah to the masses. [TVLine]
  • Apparently Clint Eastwood's daughter Francesca likes to get married and then divorced all within a week because she's "an adrenaline junkie." We would've guessed she just really likes getting wedding presents and then returning the husband, but what do we know. [Us Weekly]
  • Your holiday shopping for that One Direction fan in your life is all but done: the band's just announced a new North American tour. [EW]
  • Taylor Swift might be a robot sent here to make everyone else in the music business look bad. The singer says that she's already at work on a new album, and could have it ready to roll out in 2014. "It's way ahead of schedule," she told press at the American Music Awards. Of course it is, Taylor. [Rolling Stone]
