For a guy whose lineage has been called into question, Ronan Farrow still has a sense of humor.
The Rhodes scholar/journalist/diplomat/lawyer has always been considered to be the biological son of actress Mia Farrow and director Woody Allen.
But in a new interview with Vanity Fair, Mia has suggested that might not be the case.
When asked directly whether another famous ex, Frank Sinatra, could be Ronan's dad, Mia dropped a bombshell when she responded, "possibly."
While everyone else has been slack-jawed over the news, Ronan himself doesn't seem to be fazed. "Listen, we're all *possibly* Frank Sinatra's son," he joked on Twitter Wednesday.
It appears that's Ronan's approach when it comes to speaking about Woody Allen, too.
"My father left when I was five or six. I've been asked about him often in interviews over the years, but I skim the surface. I'm able to be a little jokey about it," he tells Esquire magazine in its October issue. "I think the most sincere answer is what I've learned coming out of the long shadow of having celebrity parents. It's shaped my life and given me a burning desire to prove myself at every turn. It's made me pretty driven, and, combined with the feeling of being the youngest guy in the room, has meant I've had to be pretty precise in defending the things I want to stand for. There hasn't been a lot of slack. I don't get leeway. Ultimately, that's been a very healthy thing."
