Drake debuts at No. 1, and more news to note

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Drake and Justin Timberlake are now in a category of their own. The Toronto rapper has the second-best sales week of the year with 658,000 copies of "Nothing Was the Same" sold in its first week of release. JT's "The 20/20 Experience" still has the best sales week of 2013, but Drake can at least claim this week's No. 1 album. [Billboard]
  • Lorde, meanwhile, has the No. 1 song in the country with "Royals." Not shabby for 16.
  • Miley Cyrus is hosting and performing on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, and her ancient VMAs performance is undoubtedly going to be dusted off and dragged back out. However, the promos give us hope that "SNL's" writers have found ways to squeeze whatever lingering bit of humor may still reside in that story (So can we please put it to rest, now? Please?):
  • Someone at CBS made the smart decision to make Amber Tamblyn the new half-man on their Thursday night sitcom "Two and a Half Men." Tamblyn has been guest-starring as the lesbian daughter of the late Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen), and she's already been promoted to series regular. [EW]
  • Write down this date, because you'll want to remember it: June 26, 2015. That's when the sequel to last summer's Mark Wahlberg/Seth MacFarlane comedy, "Ted," comes out.

On Rihanna, Robyn and fearlessness

If you need proof of Rihanna's fearlessness, look no further than her new "Pour It Up" music video.

The 25-year-old singer both directed and stars in the raunchy clip, which - true to the song's lyrics - features plenty of both dollar bills, strippers, and their requisite poles.

As RiRi showed on her Instagram account, she even fit in some pole practice for the shoot.
