Miley's favorite drug is weed, and more news to note

Today's news you might've missed:

  • In addition to getting Rolling Stone tattooed on her feet while being interviewed for the magazine, Miley Cyrus also gave a defense of her preference for weed. "I think weed is the best drug on earth ... Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better," so says Cyrus. And there you have it. [RS]
  • Miley's buddy Kanye West is having a rough time. After getting into a fight with Jimmy Kimmel, he got into a fight with paparazzi for the billionth time. On the bright side, maybe he'll tweet about it! [Gossip Cop]
  • In casting news, it looks like you can expect to see Martin Freeman do his best "Fargo" accent - the actor has joined the new FX series as a small town insurance agent. [NYMag's Vulture]
  • And in other casting news, "The Giver" adaptation has added some, well, interesting members: both Katie Holmes and Taylor Swift have joined. [THR/VF]
  • That movie, for what it's worth, also stars Meryl Streep - who is looking super-scary as a witch in this new photo from the upcoming movie, "Into the Woods":

Kanye West is often given over to passionate discourse, and nowhere are his thoughts more crystallized - and shout-y - than on Twitter.

Ever since West first issued his inaugural 140 character comment, @kanyewest has become one of the most controversial, talked about and followed accounts on the social media site.

If 'The Big Bang Theory' had won an Emmy ...

Never say Chuck Lorre doesn't come prepared.

The co-creator of "Two and a Half Men," "The Big Bang Theory" and CBS' new comedy "Mom" arrived at the Emmy awards on Sunday knowing exactly what he would do if best comedy nominee "Big Bang Theory" grabbed the win.

First, he would remind himself to breathe.
