Michael Keaton supports 'Batfleck,' and more news to note

Today's news you might've missed:

  • We tried to tell you Ben Affleck as Batman might not be so bad. The actor has received support from a few major names in Hollywood - Adam West and Joss Whedon among them - but now Michael Keaton has extended his blessing. The former Caped Crusader says he thinks Affleck's "gonna be great." But, you know, no pressure. [TMZ]
  • Reps for Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are busy cleaning up rumors that the two are dating after they were spotted getting "down and dirty" at a recent Hamptons soiree. "They're not dating," a rep for Holmes says. "They've been friends for years." [Page Six]
  • Miley Cyrus is now an enemy of foam finger manufacturers as well as teddy bear makers. One such businessman is perturbed by Miley's creative uses for the prop during Sunday's VMAs: "She took an honorable icon that is seen in sporting venues everywhere and degraded it," the VP said. "Fortunately, the foam finger has been around long enough to survive this incident." [Gawker]
  • Meanwhile, Miley's defender, Captain Justin Timberlake, caused a scene in Hoboken last night when he turned up at the recently closed but still iconic club Maxwell's to film a commercial. [The Jersey Journal]
  • Christina Aguilera had a lot to get off her chest last night - like, roughly six pages worth of thoughts. If you want to dig deep into Aguilera's sharing session, the lengthy letter, titled "From my heart to yours - Let there be love," is over on her website. [ChristinaAguilera.com]
  • Lisa Kudrow has joined "Scandal's" third season in a recurring role, by the way. [Deadline]

Macklemore, Ryan Lewis almost shed 'man tears' over recent success

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' breakthrough album, "The Heist," has gone platinum, officially surpassing sales of more than one million. Not bad for an indie record that took the Seattle duo three years to make, and has since spawned three massive hits with "Thrift Shop," "Can't Hold Us" and the poignant gay rights anthem, "Same Love."

The news was announced Wednesday night before the hip-hop sensations took at the stage in front of 200 fans at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Frontman Ben Haggerty said just five years ago, he thought he may need to put his dreams aside and find a nine-to-five job.
