Billy Ray Cyrus doesn't care how hard his daughter twerks, she'll always be his little Smiley.
The country star said as much in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," telling the show's Nancy O'Dell that he'll "Of course I'll always be here for Miley."
Adding that he "can't wait to see her when she gets home," Billy Ray said that his relationship with his 20-year-old daughter is intact after the storm of criticism she inspired at Sunday's MTV VMAs.
"She's still my little girl and I'm still her Dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out," he said. "I love her unconditionally and that will never change."
That evening's big winner, Justin Timberlake, hasn't lost any love for his fellow pop star. "She's young ... It's not like it was the Grammys," he said in Miley's defense while chatting with Hot 97's Angie Martinez.
"I was not in the crowd because it was close to my performance," Timberlake said. "I don't look at Miley that way, because the first time I met her she was 'Hannah Montana.' My thoughts on it are, it's the VMAs. We're talking about Madonna in a wedding dress humping the stage, we're talking about Britney doing a striptease. This cycle is not uncommon. ... It's almost like if something like that doesn't happen at the VMAs, then I feel like it was boring."
Gotta say, Justin ... we agree.
