The Internet hate for Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance has been epic, but the 20-year-old pop star seems to be unfazed.
On Twitter, Cyrus pointed out that all of that chatter has only elevated her brand.
"Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute," Cyrus said. "That's more than the blackout or Superbowl! #fact."
And with that, Cyrus moved on to being her usual self - which lately involves sharing semi-suggestive photos, usually of her butt.
While some celebrities - maybe Kelly Clarkson among them - have been critical of Cyrus' latest show, the gentlemen of One Direction don't see what the fuss was about.
"It was great. I don't get this whole, what everyone's talking about," Niall Horan told CNN at Monday's U.S. premiere of the boy band's movie, "One Direction: This Is Us." "I thought it was just Miley."
"It was good fun," Louis Tomlinson added.
One Direction weathered some criticism themselves at the VMAs on Sunday, as boos could be heard when the boy band accepted the song of the summer award for their hit "Best.Song.Ever."
But on Monday, the singers calmly shrugged it off. Said Liam, "Haters gonna hate."
