While Kim Kardashian is not a rapper herself – only dating and co-parenting a child with one – it appears she doesn't mind calling folks out as is often seen in hip-hop circles.
According to TMZ the trash talking appears to have started after journalist Katie Couric reportedly gave an interview to In Touch magazine which ran on Thursday and found the veteran journalist questioning the rationale behind the Kardashian family fame.
"I don’t understand — why are they so famous," Couric is quoted as saying. "I think it’s mostly teenage girls that are interested."
Those words didn't go over well with new mother Kim K. who posted a photo of the baby gift she and Kanye West received from Couric for their daughter, North, along with a brief note from Couric on her Instagram account. To make her feelings clear, Kardashian hash tagged the picture "#IHateFakeMediaFriends" and "#MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsAndThenTalkS**t."
Strong words for one of just a handful of times she's spoken out since giving birth in June.
Update: Katie Couric released a statement on August 19, saying: "I've met Kim before and I think she's a really sweet person. I was responding to a reporter's question, and explaining how I'm intrigued by the public's fascination with her family. I didn't mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I'm happy for Kim and Kanye."
