We have to warn those of you who haven't seen the second season of "Homeland" in its entirety that this sneak peek may not be for you.
If you can't stand spoilers, trust us - it's better to finish watching season two and then get a taste of what's to come.
But for those all caught up, steel yourselves - this trailer is nothing but sad.
After catching us up with where Brody (Damian Lewis) and Carrie (Claire Danes) left things at the end of season 2, we fast forward to the aftermath of the explosion that wrecked the CIA.
In essence, everyone's trying to find a way to move forward - but no one seems to have the words to be able to say so, as the three-minute clip is nearly dialogue-free. From the looks of these scenes, things are about to get very, very bad.
Danes did warn fans at the TCAs last month that the beginning of season 3 is "pretty bleak" for agent Carrie Mathison, "because she's gone off her meds for lots of reasons that she believes really strongly in."
And while we do see Brody, now bald, in the trailer, producer Alex Gansa has said that viewers won't see him for the first two episodes of "Homeland."
"The decision to not have Brody in the first two episodes was just a function of storyline," Gansa said, while Damian Lewis explained that his complex character "is on the lam ... he's the most wanted criminal in the world, so he has to lay low. I think when you do see Brody I think you will see — and hopefully it will be of interest to the audience — what state he will be in .... I hope when you do see Brody for the first time it will be interesting."
In the trailer, at least, it certainly was. Hopefully some of our already burning questions will be answered with the third season premiere, which will bow on Showtime September 29 at 9 p.m. ET.
