Stars mourn the loss of Kidd Kraddick

Syndicated morning radio personality David "Kidd" Kraddick was beloved by his everyday listeners and famous interview subjects alike.

The popular DJ passed away at the age of 53 on Saturday, while attending a golf tournament in New Orleans. He was there raising money for his Kidd's Kids charity, and the cause of his death is still unknown.

In the wake of his passing, several stars from around the globe have voiced their sadness at losing bright presence in the industry:

Kraddick's management has said in a statement that "at the appropriate time, we will release more information about the cause of death. He died doing what he loved, and his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him."

I too listened to Kidd while I lived in Dallas for many years. He was a special DJ and always made me laugh. My heart goes to his family. His death does seem a little strange to me. Kidd was 52 and appeared to be thin and healthy... but that may have been an appearance. I heard his heart was enlarged which normally comes from high blood pressure. if you look at any photos of Mr. Kraddick you can tell he has had recent plastic surgery. There is no way he had unknown high blood pressure if he's seen a doctor in the last year. I worry that Mr. Kraddick was burning his candle at both ends and may have used something to keep him "high octane". At 52 he was dating a 32 woman and obviously tried to turn back the clock with his hair and recent face work. He may have found he needed something extra to run like a 30 year old. It may not have been something illegal, but just drinking Redbull and Five Hour Energy bottles can create major issues. I've known folks that drink 5 to 10 of these a day. Kidd did not have heart disease in his family (that I can tell), he wasn't 300 lbs.... but something went wrong. I hope they release the toxicology report so everyone can actually learn from Kidd's death. I suspect he didn't have to die.

He was a very popular radio DJ. He was the main person (obviously) from Kidd Kraddick in the morning. His morning show was going on for 21+ years and was listened to across the US in various areas where they did his morning show.
He worked selflessly to help those less fortunate and started Kidd's Kids where they hole fundraisers to gather money to send families with children who are chronically ill to Disney Land (or World) when normally their parents would NEVER dream of being able to go.
Everything he did was to make people smile, and help others less fortunate than he was.
DFW has lost a great man, but wherever he went gained GREAT man.

He was on my favorite station in high school back in the mid 80's. Back then he dubbed himself "the ugliest dj in America". Mornings driving to school were so much fun and I'm sure I got plenty of strange looks from other drivers because I was usually laughing hysterically.
