Going by the reaction alone, you're forgiven if you thought Christina Aguilera was the only star of "The Voice" to make an appearance this weekend.
The singer/actress turned several heads at NBC's press conference at the TCAs on Saturday, an event she attended along with her co-stars/co-coaches Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine.
Aguilera's physique seems to be under constant scrutiny - Levine has defended her from body critics in the past - and Saturday's outing was no different. The 32-year-old mom made headlines in a flirty and fitted short pink dress that showed off her figure.
"I cannot live in front of the camera 24 hours a day," Aguilera told press Saturday. "I have to take breaks and stay connected with myself, I think that's important so that you can be your best on camera. I'm a mom, when the cameras go off I put on sweats and a T-shirt and I'm mom. ... I've been on a really incredible journey the past six months, I feel revived and renewed."
Both Aguilera and Green will be back on the singing competition when it returns September 23 following their brief hiatus. While those two coaches sat out season 4, Shakira and Usher filled in their spots.
"Thank God for Shakira," Aguilera said Saturday. "She did a beautiful job." For Green, watching Usher in his seat was "awkward and intriguing at the same time," he said.
But with so much attention on the coaches, where does that leave the contestants? Out of "The Voice's" four seasons, the show has yet to produce a star on the level of some of "American Idol's" biggest players, like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
Yet Levine and host Carson Daly agreed Saturday that creating a big star isn't really "the overall mission" of "The Voice."
"A lot of things have to happen in order for that to take place. The goal of the show is to do what we can do with these amazing singers while they're on the show to get somebody into the front to win the show," Levine said. "We all know that the lightning in a bottle that you have to capture in order to be successful in the business is extremely difficult."
Why does she think moms wear sweats and t-shirts? Where does she live, a trailer park?
Excuse me you idiot! Disagree all you will regarding what mom's wear, but don't start dragging things into the trailer park. Socio-economically, it's beneath us all. And by the way, some women do wear sweats and t-shirts.....many of my female friends pull off the bra, pull on a t-shirt and don those sweats to get comfy while at home. Not every woman feels the need to prance around in high heels and make-up.
Love Christina Aguilera, she looks Amazing!!! as always. love her music so much, her Bionic and Lotus albums are great!!! thank You Christina for the inspiration.
Great to see this beauty doing well. Incrediable voice
She does have an incredible voice, AND a lovely, shorn pudendum, above which is a tattoo reading 'slippery when wet.'
Watch the movie Burlesque. The singing is amazing. Love her!
Ignore this embecille....i'm hungry
I think she's beautiful inside and out. She's a fighter and an inspiration. People who hate are just jealous.
Whoa, she looks like the wicked witch in a blonde mop wig.
While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think your opinion is in the distinct minority. She's gorgeous and 99 out of a hundred guys would go to great lengths to be with her. Your judgment is questionable on this and all other matters. The soundness of your opinions is questionable. Good self-discipline and drive getting fit, Ms. Aguilera.
Hey MAP! Idk about the wicked witch, more like Glinda the good witch. Maybe it's the pink dress. Lol!
She really is looking good, and she looks revived and renewed, too. Good for her.
I just LOVE Christina Aguilera! Her music is so much better than most of the pop stars out there today. She looks terrific!
Imagine someone, a stranger, looking at a photo of you and saying the same thing. You wouldn't like it, would you a s s hole?
What's funny is, even if she were a "pig," as randy says, he still wouldn't stand a chance with her. randy probably strikes out with real-life, non-celebrity pigs every single day. That's why he's such a bitter, twisted little misogynist.
Randy is probably an old right-wing misogynist, who believes that any woman who doesn't dress modestly and remain thin is a pig.
And he is wrong how?
