The Terminator is indeed coming back, and it'll be sooner than you'd think.
Studio Paramount has confirmed that the first installment of their rebooted "Terminator" trilogy will land on June 26, 2015.
The movie will be executive produced by Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake, with Laeta Kalogridis (“Shutter Island”) and Patrick Lussier (“Drive Angry”) on board to pen the script.
The original "Terminator" arrived in 1984 with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the robotic assassin, and the franchise grew to include three more movies: 1991's "Terminator 2"; 2003's "Terminator 3"; and 2009's "Terminator Salvation." The "Terminator" series as a whole has brought in $1.4 billion worldwide.
Schwarzenegger starred in the first three "Terminator" films, and had a brief appearance in the fourth installment. The statement from Paramount didn't mention whether the actor-turned-politician would have a role in the rebooted "Terminator," but we now don't have long to wait to see what his involvement could be.
