Singer Kelly Rowland has been openly enthusiastic about judging "The X Factor" in the U.S., and it looks like she might soon get her chance.
Along with Rowland, Cowell's reportedly also considering Latin songstress Paulina Rubio.
The two would succeed prior "X Factor" judges L.A. Reid and Britney Spears, who both departed the series at the end of its second season.
If Cowell does work something out with Rowland and Rubio, he'd be the lone gentleman among some experienced ladies. Along with Lovato, who's heading into her second season as a judge, Rowland and Rubio have also served in similar roles before. Rowland's a veteran of the U.K. version of "The X Factor," and Rubio was a coach on the second season of "La Voz ... Mexico."
The U.S. "X Factor" has gone through four judges and two hosts since its inception. Prior judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were dismissed after the singing competition's first season, along with the first season host, Steve Jones. Since then, the second season host Khloe Kardashian, who led the program along with Mario Lopez, has also parted ways with the program.
We'll find out soon enough if these two will be the newest judges to step aboard, as Cowell has tweeted that the new panel will be announced today.
