Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is being proactive about maintaining good health.
The 43-year-old, who has been open about seeking treatment for bipolar II disorder, has checked into a "healthcare facility," her rep told CNN.
"Previously, Catherine has said that she is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner," her rep added.
In 2011, Zeta-Jones, who is married to Michael Douglas, sought treatment for the disorder with a brief stay at a mental health facility.
Bipolar II, which the Mayo Clinic notes is less severe than bipolar I, is defined as "a pattern of depressive episodes shifting back and forth with hypomanic episodes, but no full-blown manic or mixed episodes," according to the National Institute of Mental Health.
In the past, Zeta-Jones has said that she hopes her desire to seek help will encourage others who might be suffering.
"This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them," she told People magazine in 2011. "If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help."
