The idea of Fox remaking "Guys and Dolls," now that the studio's secured the movie rights, isn't that shocking - this is present-day Hollywood, after all.
More interesting is the pair that's been name-checked as the desired leads: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum.
According to Deadline, there's a possibility the duo could find their way to the roles of Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson, which were memorably played by Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando, respectively, in the 1955 movie.
"Guys and Dolls" had its origins on the page before it moved to the stage as an award-winning musical in 1950. Both JGL and Tatum have shown how well they can sing and dance, and both actors are in high demand, Deadline notes.
But, Fox's "Guys and Dolls" remake will need to find a writer and a director before it can start lining up deals for the cast - although the word is that both Gordon-Levitt and Tatum are interested.
What do you think - would Tatum and Gordon-Levitt make the perfect new "Guys and Dolls" duo?
