The trailers for Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" are so good, we feel like we've gotten our money's worth just by watching them.
The newest clip is just as captivating and emotionally resonant as the full trailer released last December, which focused on a young Clark Kent realizing that he has extraordinary powers, ones that he can use for good but that also must remain a secret.
This time around, we're again seeing a young Clark, and we mean young: the trailer begins with a shot of the superhero as a baby being held by his father, Jor-el (Russell Crowe), as he says goodbye. It makes sense, since Snyder is creating a reboot of the Superman franchise, telling the hero's origin story.
We again see the bus crash that causes Clark to reveal just how powerful he is, as he saves the passengers aboard from drowning. The incident sparks a conversation between Clark and his adoptive father Jonathan Kent, played by Kevin Costner, in which he reassures Clark that he's still his son.
"You're the answer to whether we're alone in the universe," Kent says. "I have to believe that you were sent here for a reason, and even if it takes the rest of your life, you owe it to yourself to find out what that reason is."
As an adult, portrayed by Henry Cavill, Clark embarks on a quest to discover that reason, and we eventually see him slip into the familiar suit. Alas, Clark isn't as safe on earth as his father hoped, as the trailer shows General Zod (Michael Shannon) in pursuit.
"What does the 'S' stand for?" Amy Adams' Lois Lane asks at the end. Superman responds that where he's from, the symbol stands for hope, but Lois has a better, more epic suggestion.
"Man of Steel" opens June 14. To learn more about how the score Hans Zimmer created, check out our interview with the composer here.
Thanks for any other informative blog. Where else may I am getting that kind of info written in such a perfect approach? I've a venture that I'm simply now running on, and I've been on the look out for such information.
Terrific paintings! This is the type of info that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this put up higher! Come on over and seek advice from my web site . Thank you =)
Im better than he is
Why Superman be a white dude all da time?
Superman eh? Hmmm, what a neat new concept....BORING
He's hot because he gets his powers from our yellow sun...
clark or superman...he's hot
He looks pretty good as Superman but what about Clark Kent, I think to much is being put on Superman and we've seen nothing of the abult Clark Kent, I guess we'll see in June. I can't wait!!!
Christopher Reeves said it was harder playing Clark Kent than it was playing Superman, we'll see if Henry can pull it off. Still there was NO better looking Superman than Christopher, The True Man Of Steel.
Hey, Zack, did you know that the name of the Soviet dictator–Stalin–means "man of steel"?
Maria, what is your point, exactly - just an interesting bit of trivia? You DO know that Zack Snyder did not coin the phrase "man of steel," right? That description for Superman has been around for years in the comic books.
I like who they picked to play Superman but not happy that Cosner and Crowe are in the movie 2 of my most unliked actors of all time. Will most likely go see it anyway just hope they don't have a lot of screen time.
True. They should have consulted you first before finalizing casting.
L'ha ribloggato su petrone98.
Chi dà il culo di un topo, robypetrone?
Best guy for the part
Still no trailer with Faeora.
Just wish they could have picked a better actor, but with all the CGI it will not matter. At least he looks the part.
Really?? Have you ever seen a single thing he has been in? He is a fantastic actor and the perfect choice for superman, hands down.
Why yes, I have sat through some of his work, like I said, at least he looks the part :)
He looks the part - look at that body...
This way the studio won't have to spend as much on CGI effects.
Well... yet another Superman movie. Dare we hope for something other than yet another movie opening up with the cornfield sequence... the Krypton flashback of a baby, a spaceship, and resolved anonymous parent types... and a mess of a movie that follows these scenes? Didn't we just have one of these recently? Too many to count.
Still trying to get used to his costume not having those red underpants on the outside.
He must have them on underneath, ya think?
Remembered that episode of friends where Joey said that when he forgets his line he uses the fart face? Well something like that. This guy reminds me of it..the look on his face that is..lol
Maybe he sharted while making that face and had to send the red undies to the laundromat lol.
If Superman had farted or sharted, the building and most of the town behind would be in ruins.
Don't know about is blowing down the buildings ;) with that look on his face, he appears to be constipated :)
Looks pretty epic. Plus Iron Man 3 this year, and Star Trek 2, it's shaping up to be quite a blockbuster summer!
