As details continue to emerge on the explosions that occurred at the Boston Marathon Monday, celebrities have joined in the outpouring of support on social media.
The blasts, which occurred near the finish line of the race, killed three people, including an 8-year-old and injured over 100 others, Boston police said.
Boston natives Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, Mindy Kaling and John Krasinski turned their thoughts to their hometown:
More celebrities added their condolences:
New Kids on the Block member Joey McIntyre and "Survivor" and "Amazing Race" contestant Ethan Zohn both tweeted from the race, telling followers they were OK and sending their hope to those at the scene.
"There was an explosion by the finish line about 5 minutes after I finished- I'm ok but I'm sure there are many hurt," McIntyre tweeted as the news of the explosions broke, much to the relief of his bandmate, Donnie Wahlberg, who earlier asked his followers to tweet if they'd heard from the singer.
"Going to be off twitter for a while today," Wahlberg said. "Many friends and loved ones to check in on. Please #PrayforBoston and all those impacted by this. ... Check in on all your friends who're fans of Joe Mac. Knowing BH's the way we do, I'm sure some were out to support Joe today. No words to describe the pain in my heart, at this moment, in seeing my city torn apart this way. So sad. Please #pray4boston & the victims."
Zohn posted to his followers, "I'm OK. Most importantly, praying for those injured and affected by this. Still don't have a lot of info. Thanks for your love and concern."
