Heidi Klum's Hawaii beach vacation with family turned frightening on Sunday when her son, Henry, was pulled into a rip current along with two nannies.
As Us Weekly reported, Klum and her bodyguard/boyfriend, Martin Kirsten, immediately raced to save the 7-year-old and the caretakers. Henry is Klum's oldest son; she's also mom to Leni, 8; Johan, 6; and Lou, 3.
“We were pulled into the ocean by a big wave. Like any mother, I was very scared for my child and everyone else in the water," Klum told CNN in a statement. "Thankfully Henry is a strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land and we were able to get everyone out safely."
The 39-year-old supermodel and TV personality, who's currently hosting the latest season of "Project Runway," will appear on "America's Got Talent" as a judge this summer.
I gotta favorite this internet site it seems handy handy
If that dumb bimbo did not have her child swimming in that wild waters to begin with, the child would not need saving. I just find her to be very ignorant..
so you wouldn't let your kids swim in the ocean with 2 adults with him and 2 more watching from shore?
I think you are overprotective
Thank you CNN for another fine example of "Too Much News"
cause if you ever had oysters it kinda tastes the same and you also get sand in your mouth. it's ALL good...
the kids dad was a seal.. come on..
Can anyone save her from drowning??
So – according to the article her son is a "strong swimmer" – and was able to "swim back to land".
So – exactly how is it that CNN's writer credits Heidi Klum with "saving her son" – when obviously he saved himself ???
who would bang Heidi Klum.....
rhymes with KLUMTW@T
CAN'T WAIT UNTIL HEIDI M. CAN BE NAKED
Please! Now Heidi is a hero, she save her son from drowning!
Really CNN, you can do better then that.
She did what hundreds of mother do every day at the beach with their kids.
Big F.... Deal!
I'd like to apologize for my post. As you can see, I am a complete idiot.
It doesn't sound like she saved anyone at all. She said in her own words "he was able to swim back to land'. So why are we making her a 'hero' when she basically did nothing but watched. Sorry but I refuse to give her credit for something she had nothing to do with. It was probably her fault he got pulled out in the first place. Stop trying to make celebrities into Super Heroes. Especially someone who's only claim to fame is wearing clothes and marrying a famous singer.
i keep clean-
Well of course Henry is a strong swimmer. After all, his father is a seal.
it's been done before...
LMAO!!! SCORE............that was too funny!
Who calls the media afterwards?
Well, if you guys think YOU'RE sick of Klum, I live in Germany, and since the Germans don't really have any other successful celebrities, Heidi appears in almost every TV commercial there is. She is really an attention Wh0re!
Nobody cares what you think about my comment, idiot.
I'm glad she got off the beach and cleaned herself up a little. Must be hell getting all that sand washed out of your hoo-haw.
always have always will be.....my business...and my blog space
Heidi Klum saves son from ocean waves:
"Thankfully Henry is a strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land and we were able to get everyone out safely."
Another example of top notch reporting by CNN
Heidi is a dud
according too what we've seen her reporting sucks
but I do feel if not interested turn it off.
Is that a tattoo on her right arm? If so, what a turn off.
What's amazing is that there is probably not a single person in this world that gives a care in the world as to what you find to be a turn on or off. Sad, but true. The internet as hard as you try just won't help you with that problem either.
tools are addictive people
is an ancient, Teutonic symbol for a bowel movement. Look closely – it resembles a long, clumpy turd. "Klum," in German, means "poop."
Looks like she not only immediately raced to save the child, but immediately raced to get max publicity also.
we need better women around that set examples Heidi sets no thing
Heidi Klum talks too much and lies too much....she never gets the story straight and that's why she is delusional
She says Henry swam back on his own, yet CNN headlines say she rescued him. Gee, worship celebrities much?
She did save him. She told her boyfriend to go after them. That is why anyone who yells help is the real hero, not the one who actually risked their life. Don't you see the medals given out every day for those who yelled help? Those firemen who catch babies out of windows are not heroes, only the person who called the fire department. Geez.
we need too worship them every single day and be proud we have them too protect us.
I love fire cuz they are hot and lay their lives on the line for us....we need appreciate them
I love firemen cuz they are hot and lay their lives on the line for us....we need appreciate them
total turn on and they are fun
Heidi is not what we call fun...she's quite the bore actually
all you can say.
Of course he was a good swimmer, he's half seal.
MI CAMP WINS
I guess "Heidi Klum saves son" sounded better than "Heidi Klum's son saves himself".
Don't quite understand how she saved him when she says he swam back to shore...sounds like he saved himself...right?
This woman cannot get enough public attention. Money Money and more money that is exactly what Heidi is all about. Personally I am sick of non stories like this serving only to promote a person who already has everything. I am 100% certain that this exact same thing happens several times a day in Hawaii to people who don't have body guards and nannies. I am glad the child was ok but using the incident to get a press headline, come on. It just shows how low these stars will go to stay in the lime light. Enough is enough, this is a NEWS site. This is not NEWS. If people actually started paying attention to the real stories and not this garbage, learning something other than what a celebrity is up to, America would be a lot better place. If anyone that knows of Heidi Klum never saw or heard from her again on TV or the web our lives would still go on and so would hers, minus the coverage. Stop posting non NEWS stories on a NEWS sites. Let people who want to lower themselves to this type of wasted life go someplace else to read about people they will really never relate to and probably never meet.
As much as I agree with you about Heidi Klum, you do realize this is an ENTERTAINMENT BLOG. It's about entertainers and celebrities. Sorry to disappoint you, but this is not a hard news site.
you sound jealous of her
in the industry
Sure it's not news, but it's the god damn ENTERTAINMENT seciton. E-N-T-E-R-T-A-I-N-M-E-N-T does not equal compelling investigative journalism. It's for bored people who don't wanna hurt their heads reading something. MOVE ON!!!!
Four kids and two nannies? No wonder Robin Quivers despises Heidi.
"Saved her son from drowning"?..........or forgot he couldn't swim yet?
How about this for a headline: Irresponsible mother allows seven year old son to swim in dangerous water. Son swms to shore but mother takes credit for saving his live to profit from publicity. Ex-husband Seal lucky to be rid of obnoxious wife.
Really? It's called life and accidents. Please tell the internet about your perfect parenting skills.
No hero props .. welcome to being a parent
As a person who grew up on the beaches of Lake Michigan, you know you never try to swim back to shore if you are caught in a rip tide. Yes, Lake Michigan gets them, too. You always swim horizontally to the shoreline to get out of the riptide. You can't fight it, because it will just suck you out into deep water. I know a lot of people wouldn't think this would happen on Lake Michigan. When the water gets rough, it can get really rough. We used to have the big power boats race on Lake Michigan. It's not like racing on the ocean. The ocean gets the big rollers, we get a lot of chop. The racers didn't really like racing here, just due to that. The lake can be very dangerous, and it can happen so fast you don't see it coming. If the flags are out, you are a fool to get into the water.
You're exactly right. I got caught in a riptide on Lake Michigan once and only escaped by swimming parallel to the shore. I ended up a half mile down the beach and so exhausted, I could barely move. The water doesn't LOOK dangerous, so it's not surprising people get caught in this dangerous situation. So maybe Heidi Klum isn't a hero, or maybe every parent who rushes to aid a kid caught in a riptide is. I vote for the latter.
She is so obnoxious that she would be even more unbearable if she had saved her son, and not her current boyfriend. The last thing needed is this self-promoting egomaniac to find another reason to talk about herself in the third person.
Looks like the boyfriend saved them & not Heidi. She's not even wet. Check out her hair.
Um...you do know that the photo is of Klum at some publicity event, not at the beach, don't you? Look at the background.
Maybe the son thought he saw a Seal in the water.
If this was to happen to Seal. The headline would be "Seal is a irresponsible father, son almost drown.
That is ridiculous, only idiots like you have that enter their minds. You try to act as if you are anti racism yet the mere fact you posted that shows that YOU have the race problem.
Wow, so he was a strong swimmer that swam back to shore himself and look, Heidi's not even wet! Wait, what is this story about?
Yeah, when I read that I was like "So if HE swam back to shore himself, how exactly did she save him?"
HOW MANY children does she have?
If you'd read the article (and provided you can count)...four.
Where is the part where she "saved" anyone? Her quote says the boy is a "strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land."
Two nannies? TWO? The rich really are different. They are less competent.
She has 4 kids...to many for one person to take care of.
and tool addiction is a serious matter.
HANDS DOWN HIS PANTS...BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
it truly is....
and kinda itchy...
Whatever you think of this model, she must be a good swimmer to attempt a rescue ( her son could also be
a good motivator). The North Shore has been treacherous lately and even when not so- the undertow is incredibly
deceiving. Life Guards are present, but can't patrol the whole beach. I saw 2 grown men get swept up in seconds
and almost drowned just wading 25 yds. off the beach, playing around. Tourists must learn to swim in with the
turbulent wash of the waves; they usually try to swim in in the calmer part which is the invisible current flowing
out from the beach. I'm glad no one drowned and whether it's the fierce motherly instinct or her confidence as a
swimmer-all moot- no one lost their life.
Doesn't matter they are the bulls of the united states-just like frank Sinatra's hit record....move along
disk and file were not "retrieved." phone call at 7:30
IT JUST FESSED IT HACKED IN....BAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA
This photo does not go along with the story. Pictures of the actual event were all over the morning news. She was IN the water pulling her son and pulling the two nannies out of the water. Definitely wet, and definitely working hard to do the job. They even had to "black out" part of her bathing suit due to the fact that it had gotten semi-pulled off in the waves.
blacking out her swimsuit like that! We the people have the right to see her exposed naughty bits.
so her sandy, bearded klum would not be exposed to the masses.
Idiots – this is a paparazzi shot from another day/moment used for illustration, it is not taken when the event happened. Learn how things work!
the irony of your name is breath taking
OMG...shut. up. dumba$$.
OK, so in the photo (and hinted in the wording of this article) I see Heidi dry as a bone drying off her boy, while the man (her boyfriend, assumedly) is standing by soaking wet. So who actually "saved" the child, and why was Heidi quoted as saying her son is thankfully a strong swimmer? I see this as namedropping by the media, not so much Heidi's grabbing attention. I like this celebrity and I'm glad things in this tense situation worked out okay – but let's get real.
WE WOULD NOT KNOW WHO SHE IS...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ummm, how is it that her son is wet...and the boyfriend is wet...but Heidi is just as dry as the sand she likely never left.
During the weekend I burst a pimple.. it was so painful.. in other news heidi Klump, never got wet and manage to save her child from the bad waves
zombie marina rules
you can throw the wrench so we do not go near each other-she will speak too the man when she feels like it....
Ahh I see now. Saving him from the waves, not saving him from drowning. Maybe the bodyguard got the boy from the water, then she saved her son from anymore water touching him on the shore. Next week, Heidi saves son from fire when he gets close to stove.
Riptides are extremely dangerous and one of the main reasons people drown near the beach. Basically you swim and swim but never get anywhere, get exhausted and go under. Actually, maybe you should try it some time. Let me know how it turns out.
Goober, great facts that have nothing to do with my comment. If she was in the water swimming for him as well, how is the bodyguard not dry yet? Or the kid?
Lots of racists also...its just awful
Wow, there are a LOT of judgmental people commenting!
we try to avoid further smearing having experts read the lies
we keep reminding Heidi she suffers from confusion....
What happened to the two Nannies and how did this happen inspite of the two nannies!! Plus a lifeguard. Heidi looks fantastic for a mom of 4. Of course it won't be possible without having the help of nannies. Us poor moms can barely get time to shower!!
Sounds like time management is an issue for you. My wife gets up at 4:30am and makes sure she's worked out and showered before the kids get up and so there will be no excuses for not having done so by the end of the day. Perhaps you should consider reducing the amount of time you spend reading celebrity and entertainment blogs, for example.
who cares...so are 10 million other mothers...
and on my phones....hope she's not a mom
Oh no! Imagine what people USED to do before they could simply hire people to manage their lives for them! Oh wait, the majority of us can't afford to do that.. We simply must not be surviving..
STFU, you liar. Your fat, smelly wife gets up at 4:30 just to cook herself up a few pounds of bacon, then shoves it down her gullet. Get your ugly azz off the entertainment blogs and move outta your momma's basement. Troll.
Way to go Heidi !
not doing this the rest of the day....
In addition to her not being wet, doesnt it seem like she is a bit "far" from her beloved child that almost just drowned? Shouldnt she be embracing him and weeping over the possible tragedy that could have occurred?
I saw another picture of her on tv this morning after having "saved" her son from drowning. She was holding her sunglasses in one hand, and had her child's arm by the other hand. WOW!!! What a super woman!!!
can't handle the truth?
daz all that matters Heidi-and according to the better readers your lying...
She is dry, and the reporting says he was able to swim to shore because he is a strong swimmer. Sooo, what did she do? The bodyguard looks like he might have actually done something.
Rip tides are no joke. I was an AAU A class swimmer as a kid and I got sucked out by one of those things at the beach. Doing the logical thing, swimming straight for shore, is the WRONG thing to do and by the time you figure it out it may be too late. Swimming sideways is the way to go until you are free of the current. I'm glad I knew and was even gladder when I got back to the shore. It's fortunate that these folks are ok.
Amazing how cameras were nearby, and the story is already on CNN!
Heidi are you ok? Why is she not wet? She looks really dry
often suffer from dryness during those intimate moments. it's a pre-menopausal thing. her doctor can prescribe a clam-moistening medication for her.
Ripcurrent/Riptdies are dangerous...you should never try swimming against a rip current....that is how people drown no matter how strong a swimmer you are...you have to swim laterally to the land.
So she ran to the waters edge and put a towel on him. Whoa.
interesting that her clothes and hair is dry after so suddenly and dramatically saving them from drowning....
that was a fast one...
Hey detectives, who said the photo was shot directly after the event? It could have been shot by paparazzi earlier in the day or even earlier in the week. You've drawn your conclusion without knowing the facts. Welcome to the interwebtubes.
She must have walked on the water because she is completely dry.
Fax over what Heidi did today...thanks
You have got to be kidding...she must need press real bad to make this story sem important and to use her son as a press tool...what a joke!!!
How does a kid whose father looks and is named "Seal" drown?
Rethink your posting name and learn to read a few paragraphs. At least you're anonymous, so even though your stupidity is seen by everyone, you're the only one who really feels it.
Thank god they are still alive
Have a good day dear
Nice reporting. What happened to the Nannies? Were they pulled out to see and drowned? How did Klum save her son if he swam back to land himself?
Is that a job or an unpaid position?
He should be a strong swimmer, his dad is a SEAL.
its being faxed over...thanks
that was a GREAT one!
Am I missing something. The photos show Heidi drying off her son with a towel, the bodyguard soaking wet but she is perfectly dry, including her hair. It sounds like a publicity stunt to me. But what do I know? She may have had her hair dried and styled before the photo was taken.
You are missing something – no one said that the picture was taken right after the rescue.
I don't think Heidi was the one that saved her son. Her dress isn't even wet.
look closely – her cootch is wet.
I know exactly how scary this can be, my husband almost died in a rip current in Michigan in 2011. He's a really tough guy, and I never saw him so shook up before. I'm glad everyone made it out safely.
In Michigan? Do you mean one of the Great Lakes? (Really more of an inland sea if you ask me!) I had no idea rip tides could be there! Thank goodness he got out!
Hi. You do realize that Jesus wasn't white, right?
I'm figuring that you're one of those obnoxious Bible-thumpin' racists who's only concept of reality is perpetuated by a Bible-holdin', barely literate, snaggle-toothed uncle.
"Jesus" never existed, he was no race and why are you changing the subject and talking about religion?
"Jesus" is a fictional character but a WHITE religion that whites TAUGHT other races who now slap their own races faces on that fictional character. So in actuality, he is white, even though he never existed.
Oh and "sara"
Your black kids are ugly, primitive and intellectually inferior. Telling yourself that "I need black kids because jesus wasn't white" is a laughably warped, sick, insane, crazy mentality. If that's the way you white females think, you are even more naive and stupid than I ever thought possible.
wearing a sheet and pointy white hood whilst doing a stiff right armed salute...
burn any crosses lately?
