"Dancing with the Stars" eliminated its first contestant on Tuesday, but it didn't happen thanks to votes from viewers.
Instead, Monday's dismissal came at the advice of a spinal surgeon.
Figure staking legend Dorothy Hamill told host Tom Bergeron last night that she was advised by her doctor to drop out of the competition. Hamill has been struggling with an enlarged cyst on her back over the past week, limiting her ability to practice her dancing. She earned the lowest score during Monday's competition with a 15 on a jive.
Hamill's announcement came just after the show revealed the two celebrities facing elimination that week - boxer Victor Ortiz and "Real Housewife" Lisa Vanderpump. Both will survive at least another week.
Hear from Hamill and other celebrities on the surprise announcement by watching the video above - what do you think of her exit?
