'Transformers 4' plot details revealedConsider this week a "Transformers" info-dump. Not only do we now know that the fourth installment of Michael Bay's franchise will be filmed in metro Detroit starting in the spring, but we also have plot details.
When the Michigan Film Office revealed that the "Transformers" franchise is returning to Detroit for production, it also let slip that in the new movie, the "Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet." But - and you knew there was going to be a "but" - "a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs," the plot description says. "The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues." Bay has previously described the new "Transformers" film as a fresh start, noting that with a new cast he sees it as the start of a new trilogy. The movie's set to open June 27, 2014.

NO! not Unicron, its going to be Galvatron.... It has to be, I know they said fresh start, but stop and think, they killed Megatron in the last film, well in Cartoons from the past, when Megatron died, they used his "Parts" to create Galvatron. Trust me, it just has to be or the film would be Lame....

I like the last 3 transformer movies but they did have my 2 favorite autobots from when I was a kid and I hope Michael bay puts HotRod and Prowl in the next movie

Michael Bay pretty much took a crap on the original storyline and character design. He, like George Lucas seem to confuse special effects for storyline and plot.
So whats this story gonna be about. Well theres this big explosion and then BOOM fire and tanks and helicopters. A buncha college kids trying to find love and then BAM a giant laser.

Why do you guys always expect literature and art in all movies, some are just pure entertainment. Let's see, here's an example of you guys. Did you see that fight last night, yeah, I didn't expect the plot twist there and there was some great forshadowing. It was great how the fighters made us think introspectively about the meaning of life and our current situation. Blah, blah, blah. Really, it's entertainment. You can't apply your standards to everything, and there are different types of movies out there if you haven't figured it out.

Yeah lets hear it for Originality in Hollywood, NOT. Reall 4 installments of this are way more than enough, someone in hollywood must have an Original Idea somewhere.

Plot: Giant robots have invaded earth, some good and some bad; each one can alter itself into a different mode of earthly, man-made transportation. The good ones befriend some humans. The robots fight each other. There are a lot of explosions, destruction of property and landmarks, and general CGI violence. Humans are imperiled, but are defended by the good robots. Good defeats bad in the end, and humanity is saved. The end.

She was HOT, though, in that nasty, dyed-hair, too much eye makeup, tattooed kind of way. Great body. Cute but nasty, know what I'm saying? And man...could she DO things! If I caught something and have to get treated, it was almost worth it.

I was about to ask when they intened to reveal the plot of the first 3 transformers movies.
all of you bashing on transformers are jack asses. Look at it for what it is, a complete fictional movie (as of now) and stop trying to turn it into something its not. And if Bay has done anything, he has revived the intrest in transformers for the 10s of millions of people that watched it in the 80s and have wanted to see a live version of it.

Transformers is nothing but stupid movies for children and immature adults. Waste of time and money, people. Grow up and move along.
So what type of movies do you like? Just curious.
Something with a decent plot, developed characters played by decent actors; something that isn't based upon an old Saturday morning cartoon - a movie that isn't actually just a two hour commercial for a Hasbro toy line.

Lame, at least David isn't being self-righteous. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. You are evaluating the movie on a different set of criteria, so it fails. For us, its just pure entertainment, big robots hitting each other. Sorry we are too simple minded and enjoy this. Judge it for what it is, for being a two hour commercial, it's pretty good.
I....I....oh, who am I kiddin'...I'll be there opening weekend.
