Today's news you might've missed:

  • The next James Bond movie isn't far off - the studio says it's aiming to have it out within the next three years. If MGM is smart, they'll go ahead and book Adele for a new theme song now. [LAT]
  • It's OK to admit you loved ABC's "Splash," because you're in good company. It seems 8.8 million were suckered into watching "celebs" jump off diving boards. [Atlantic]
  • The set of Natalie Portman's "Jane Got a Gun" must have a revolving door: The initial director walked out the first day on set, and now that she's been replaced, the movie reportedly has to find a replacement for Jude Law, who himself was said to be a replacement for Michael Fassbender. [HuffPo]
  • CBS isn't letting "CSI" or Ted Danson slip through its fingers. The network's renewed the crime series for its 14th season, and ensured Danson will be around for another two years. [Deadline]
  • The 1977 live-action and animation film "Pete's Dragon" is getting a reboot, because why the heck not? We've already plumbed the depths of just about everything else. [Vulture]

Jimmy Fallon on 'Tonight Show' rumors

It seems everyone but Jimmy Fallon is wondering when the comedian will get a shot at hosting "The Tonight Show."

The rumors about Fallon replacing Jay Leno on the NBC program, which the network's declined to comment on, have been heavy recently. The New York Times' Bill Carter reported Wednesday that the network has made a commitment to Fallon in regards to him succeeding Leno, and Carter reiterated as much while speaking with CNN's Jake Tapper.

Justin Timberlake dedicates music video to grandparents

It's easy to assume that Justin Timberlake's wife, Jessica Biel, could have served as inspiration for the singer's newest love song, "Mirrors." But when it comes to the track's music video, 32-year-old Timberlake went old school.

The beginning of the clip, which runs just over 8 minutes in length, opens with a dedication to "William and Sadie," who are his grandparents, MTV reports.

After playing adulterous lovers on "Mad Men," Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser are ready for marriage in real life.

Bledel's rep confirms to CNN that the 31-year-old actress is engaged to Kartheiser, 33.

Michelle Shocked speaks on anti-gay rant

Singer Michelle Shocked lived up to her name over the weekend when she went on what some perceived to be an anti-gay rant at a performance in San Francisco.

As Yahoo! Music reports, the folk-rock artist told the crowd gathered at her show on Sunday that they could "go on Twitter and say, 'Michelle Shocked says God hates f**s."

Her statements, which included remarks in opposition to gay marriage, led to most of the audience walking out of the venue, Yahoo! says.

HBO cancels 'Enlightened'

After two seasons, "Enlightened's" light has been snuffed out.

HBO confirmed on Tuesday that the series, which stars co-creator Laura Dern as a woman whose attempts to live a more enlightened life has unexpected consequences, isn't returning for a third round.
