'Veronica Mars' cast, fans rejoice as movie reaches goal

It's on, marshmallows.

Mere hours after Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas launched a Kickstarter asking for donations for a "Veronica Mars" movie, they achieved their $2 million goal.

Bell, the star, and Thomas, the show's creator, had already broken a record for being the quickest Kickstarter to raise $1 million earlier in the day.

Members of the much beloved, all-too-shortlived UPN/CW series rejoiced at the news on Twitter.

"I love you guys," Bell tweeted to the fans (one of which pledged $10,000 for a walk-on role). "You are all SO spectacular. I am speechless."

Thomas responded to the news with a great big "Hallelujah! It's a green light my friends. I love you all, but particularly the donors among you."

He later joked, "Seriously. VM fans best in world. So grateful. Particularly me. Kristen less fond of fans. Dunno why."

"2 Broke Girls'" Ryan Hansen, who played Dick Casablancas on the series, couldn't contain himself: "I can't believe it!!!!! #veronicamars fans are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #VERONICAMARSMOVIE is happening!!"

Veronica's TV dad, Enrico Colantoni thanked fans of all stripes: "I love that we raised 2M for VMars, that's cool, but what's even cooler is that I have 1000 new followers without [Twitter's celebrity verification handle @verified] thanks you guys!"

Max Greenfield ("New Girl"), who played love interest Leo D'Amato, congratulated Bell and Thomas for "winning the Internet."

Others in Hollywood took note, such as the former star of another show with a devoted fanbase, "Chuck's" Zachary Levi.

"To you Chucksters, believe that this news only bolsters my faith that I can help bring you a #ChuckMovie," he tweeted. "Be patient. Stay tuned."

"Pushing Daisies'" creator Bryan Fuller floated the idea of resurrecting his series as a film as well: "@RobThomas @IMKristenBell CONGRATULATIONS! You're an inspiration! Now @KChenoweth and I have to get on the ball!"

"Gilmore Girls" was another show mentioned in response to this, especially once star Lauren Graham suggested that show should have done something similar.

She later clarified, "Dudes, I hear you, and thanks! But I can't be the #GilmoreGirls @kickstarter. Only [creator] Amy [Sherman-Palladino] can start that kick."

And Maurissa Tancharoen, co-writer of another Internet sensation, "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," passed along her congratulations as well.

"Holy cow. Maybe I should try and Kickstarter my life. #VeronicaMarsMovie #Iamreallyexcited"

Are you just as excited as Tancharoen? Tell us what you would like to see in a "Veronica Mars" movie - after all, the fans are literally the reason it's getting made. Upload a video or comment below.

They would probably get a lot more backing if they agreed to get Bell to do a nude scene in the movie. The box office payout would be sizeable as well, with all of the dorks tripping over themselves to see bare breasts.

This shows the stupidity in our country. These fools gave their money to millionaires so the millionaires can make a movie, so the fools can spend more money going to the theater to watch it.

People should send their money to me. I would invest it in chocolate milk. And treats for my cats. They are nice.
