It's been rumored that "Dexter's" eighth season was going to be its last, and CBS Corp. President and CEO Les Moonves seemed to confirm as much on Monday.
Moonves, whose CBS Corp. includes Showtime, was discussing the cable network's programming at the 2013 dbAccess Media & Telecom Conference.
A moderator asked what's coming up in terms of original programming, and Moonves said that a new Liev Schreiber project - "Ray Donovan" - is on its way.
(Curious about that program? According to IMDb, Schreiber will star as a "fixer" for Los Angeles' rich and famous set. Not unlike Olivia Pope on ABC's "Scandal," it seems he can erase everyone's problems but his own.)
"Ray Donovan," according to Moonves, "comes on with 'Dexter's' last season starting in June."
Moonves' statement echoes what Showtime president David Nevins told Entertainment Weekly back in 2011, which was that "everybody is operating under [the] assumption" that seasons 7 and 8 would be the end of "Dexter."
Whether it really will be the final season or not, fans of the serial killer drama can expect it to return to Showtime on June 30.
rash from the heat some women get it under their breast which you not know anything about that....some women get in the crease of their arm...so before working out I put the cream......your girlfriend might be a lez because does want too do it....think about it.
We use the term ringworm or tinea when referring to several types of contagious fungal infections of the top layer of the skin and scalp, as well as the nails. We call it ringworm because the itchy, red rash has a ring-like appearance. There is no connection between ringworm and worms. .`',
Over and out

I just hope it does not have a dumb ending. I could see them pulling a "it was a dream" were he was stalking his 1st kill while "darkly dreaming Dexter" and then instead, changes his mind and meets Deb for lunch.
It's been a rumor since the producer announced they would be ending the show last year.
About time, they ran out of ideas a long time ago when they created the whole sister brother love thing.
Agree. That was so ICK.
Very interesting! I wondered what direction they would take the show. After LeGuerta died I thought the show could almost have an entirely new life because she was the only one who wasn't on board with Dex and that would be his undoing. With Deb on board and her dead it could have gone anywhere.
I will miss Dexter for the plots and character development. Large corporations tend to promote idiots and cancel great shows.
I like good writing, so many networks sit unwatched because they put those dumbbbbbbb reality shows on instead of hiring talented writers. Thank God (and Al Gore!) for the Internet!
have you ever written a book before–give it a try.
I haven't written a book or a script, but as a consumer of such media I share masterochi.wordpress.com's opinion about many crappy shows getting promoted, while good ones getting canned. You don't have to be a writer in order to voice a constructive opinion on the subject...
people need to worry about THEIR own integrity–many people have established their integrity for over 30 years now.
i will accept a boyfriends advice and family advice but that's about it.
Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter have been pretty adamant about Season 8 being the last for a long time now. They have not played along with current Showtime boss David Nevins' coy suggestions of a Season 9. Nevins would love for "Dexter" to continue playing mid-wife and wet nurse to all HIS new shows like it did with "Homeland". He doesn't give a hoot whether the show's integrity is compromised because "Dexter" was never his baby. I'm glad the stars have pulled the plug.
He is full of integrity that is why show has survived so long....integrity, professionalism and pride.
get rid of the waste that's on tv.
Terrible that this show is going off the air. It has been in my top 3 since I first started watching it. That being said...I think Dexter HAS to go out in blood. He has to die at the end. It is the only way to complete the story. The Dark Passenger must die and the only way to do that is for Dexter to die.
I think he is going to fly to Argentina with Hannah and his son. Maybe even Debra will join them.
He will be caught, convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

we are hear because of hacking bullies and we will remain
I was under the impression that last season was it for Dexter. The last show kind of left it open for another story line to develop. This has been one of my favorite shows, so I'm really glad to hear that there will be at least one more season. I wonder if Deb will now start helping Dexter eliminate more people. Brother & sister serial killers, it could be a really interesting twist to the plot.
Wow. Dexter is a great show and it will come to an end. So what do we watch, those brain dead reality shows? How do they last so long while quality stuff like Dexter has to end?
Agreed. Some shows just seem endless and go one way past their prime. Will be sorry to see Dexter go. I love Deb!
Wow, another amazing show coming to an end. So sad to see these wink out, one after another. Not very much left to watch.
and to palintwit ... It must be shame to suffer from Palin derangement. She would have been far better than Joe...
After Dexter is over on Showtime I can cancel it ... Hello Netflix
now I can cancel Showtime
No don't do it, Homeland is just as good.
Now that Sarah Palin has been broomed from Fake News she will have more time to devote to her new book of baby name suggestions. It will be called "The Sarah Palin Book of Baby Names". Here are some of her favorites... Fargo, Spatula, Bristol, Mudflap, Trigtwit, Pinhead, Ringworm, Trak, Mucus, Checkvalve, Plopperbreath
You forgot Placenta.
just got into Dexter a couple of years ago..and love this show..I will purchase the entire dvd collection!! the earlier writers seemed right on..not too good latelly but i love Michael Hall!! Big Fan since 6 ft. under.
Another great show that will be missed. The very last scene should be Dexter killing and bagging the moron Asian guy who works with him!
He doesn't meet the code!!!

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I love this show! DAMN.
i'm assuming that includes hacking correct? she's not good at it.
I've enjoyed the series, and a lot of the acting abilities of some of the talented individuals.
I'm sad to see it go, but look forward to seeing them move into new roles.
