Batman's sidekick Robin to dieTough times lie ahead for the Dark Knight. DC Comics announced on Monday that Damian Wayne, Batman's current sidekick, will die in Wednesday's Batman, Incorporated #8.
Having taken on the role of Robin since 2006 (and at the age of ten), Damian is not just the latest character to go by that altar ego (the fifth, for those counting). He's also Bruce Wayne's son. Writer Grant Morrison introduced the concept that Bruce had a son he never knew in recent years in the "Batman" comic books. It turns out that the Joker's recent kidnapping and torture of Batman's "family" (including all of the previous Robins) was just a prelude to this. In a statement, Morrison said, "This master theme of damaged and ruined families was nowhere more in evidence than in the creation of Damian, the first 'Son of Batman' to be acknowledged in the canon. In many ways this has been Damian’s story as much as it has been the story of Bruce Wayne and it’s a story that had its end planned a long time ago – for what son could ever hope to replace a father like Batman, who never dies?" Morrison considers this story to be the finale of a years-long Bat-epic in which he explored nearly every aspect of the character. Damian is not the first Robin to die, however. The second Robin, Jason Todd, died in a controversial 1988 story where readers called in to vote on the Boy Wonder's fate (Jason was resurrected eight years ago). Reaction on Twitter to the announcement was mostly negative though Damian certainly had his share of critics. Those mourning Damian's loss may take solace in Morrison's response to the New York Post when asked if Damian might also return: "You can never say never in a comic book... Batman will ultimately always have a partner."

It seems that some of the side effects of being a Robin include DEATH. I'm pretty sure that Bruce Wayne omits that fact from his Robin recruitment brochure.

When Robin dies, Batman will go through a year of mourning during which he will wear noting but black, then decide he is ready to move on and start dating again.
Then, look for him at some of Gothem Cities more fashionable gay bars, where he will wow customers with new, brightly colored costumes.
It turns out Damian was really Magneto's son.

I thought that they would kill batman on some very high story where he would be betrayed by some friend and Robin would assume Batman place and finish the ones that betrayed him.
When they killed Robin so much time ago, i was always waiting for them to get a new one and he would raise to Bruce Wayne place and nobody would think that Bruce was Batman... because Bruce would die "officially" on a hospital bed and Batman would still be kicking the enemies out of the way.

I LOVE the IDW GI Joe comics and the IDW TMNT comics and the Brand-NEW IDW My Little Pony comics!!!
I also like the DC Masters Of The Universe comics,it's pretty good!
Spiderman is not in DC comics. He's in Marvel. GI Joe started out at DC, but drew very little attention. Learn your comic book heroes origins and publishers.
Oh okay look . Damien is the main reason why I stoped reading Batman comics. I read one with Damien in it once and it threw the whole plot of the comic out the window. I can read Batman Comics again. One crazy Robin / Red Hood is fine but two crazy Robins are over the edge . Jason is kind of the only Crazy Robin DC Comics needs .

Nothing is sacred anymore. A big plot twist like this, just spewed out for everyone to see. It really takes away from the experience.

"Altar ego"? Seriously? The big table at the front of his church has an ego? Wow, I can't believe a CNN writer would make such an amateur error.
Ive heard Damian Wayne has asked for 1 million dollars for each issue he appears in. That's a $750,000 increase in what he is making now. He is a great character but is, after all, not Batman.
Characters in The Walking Dead graphic novels are some of the highest paid in the industry. I can see why Robin may want to join their cast but I don't think he would be a good fit. Maybe if he looses the superhero costume and dresses more like a survivor it might work out but I'm not too sure. I really don't think he would get along with Rick's group. They have become a fairly tight knit group. Maybe He can audition for some if the other series. Either way, I think things will turn out ok for Robin. Best wishes to him in his future endeavors.

I hope he will go over and be in The Walking Dead graphic novels. I've heard they pay their characters more anyhow.
