Mariah Carey sings track for 'Oz the Great and Powerful'Disney’s “Oz the Great and Powerful” is full of famous faces and now it has some famous vocals to match. Mariah Carey will lend her voice to the film, which stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams, in the form of a single titled “Almost Home,” according to a statement. “‘Almost Home’ has a message that works beautifully with the film,” Carey said. “It’s a feel-good record; it gives you the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love.” It's not yet known how the track will fit into the movie, whether it will play during the action or simply appear on the soundtrack. What we do know is that Carey’s label, Island Def Jam, will release "Almost Home" on February 19. Meanwhile, David LaChapelle is directing the music video, which he calls “a duet between Mariah and the movie,” the press release states. Sam Raimi’s “Oz the Great and Powerful” is expected to bow on March 8.

Really? I can't believe you guys are trying to discredit one of the best selling, best vocalists this world has known. Sure, maybe she can't sing like she used to but I still have respect for her especially having the work ethic she has and having written all her original songs herself including all her classics. Even if she's a hasbeen, she had an amazing career for 2 decades.

I'm so glad she is doing a song for the movie instead of some trendy/obnoxious warbling, pitch-corrected, spastic hip-hop dancin' half-rappin' so-called singer. Mariah has a strong voice, great intonation, and actually sings. Just what a theme song needs.
Save the Living Color Fly-Girl drug-addicted rejects for some frickin' superbowl show or something. They're has-beens. Mariah is a classic.

that woman got her career back thanks to American Idol.As a judge she is boring, irrelevant and a diva. She could be better off taking care of the kids and toy-boy husband at home. By the way American Idol sucks , this year.
