Getting ready for OscarNow that a little thing called the Super Bowl is over, we can focus on the truly important matters: We're smack dab in the middle of awards season. We've seen the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild awards, the People's Choice ceremony and the NAACP honors come and go, and now the attention has shifted to two of the biggies: the Grammys and the Oscars. Music's biggest night is set for Sunday, and the Academy Awards will be on February 24. In honor of Hollywood's grand event, Turner Classic Movies (which is owned by the parent company of CNN) is airing some timeless, Oscar-nominated films of yore with its "31 Days of Oscar." So if your taste runs more to "Streetcar Named Desire" or "A Star Is Born" than "Amour" and "Silver Linings Playbook," the network has you covered. (Feel free to mix a drink inspired by Eatocracy's roundup of some of Hollywood's classic cocktails.) Brush up on your cinema history, and we'll see you February 24. |
