After that hesitant, dramatic semi-announcement that he was returning to music, you might expect Justin Timberlake to play it low-key.
But no - the almost 32-year-old, who celebrates his birthday Thursday, isn't staying small-time with his comeback. He's taking his return tour to the Grammys.
The Recording Academy announced today that Timberlake is joining the list of performers at the 55th ceremony. It'll be the TV debut for the six-time Grammy winner's anticipated homecoming to music; he last performed at the Grammys four years ago.
Timberlake joins a list of performers that includes Fun.; The Black Keys; Rihanna; Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert; The Lumineers; Taylor Swift; Carrie Underwood; Jack White; and Elton John and Ed Sheeran.
The Recording Academy hasn't mentioned it, but we're also wondering if Frank Ocean, one of the lead nominees at the this year's event, will also sneak in a performance. When he tweeted on Sunday that he was "jumped" by Chris Brown and "a couple guys," the "Channel Orange" artist also stirred hope in the hearts of fans when he followed up with, "cut my finger now I can't play w two hands at the grammys."
We'll find out just what Ocean might have in store when the Grammys airs February 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
