While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Justin Bieber said he’s “not in the happiest place,” and he’s putting his feelings into his music. In “Nothing Like Us,” which is about his breakup with Selena Gomez, Bieber sings, “Nothing can make me feel like you do … there’s nothing like us.” [Billboard]
  • Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s new Los Angeles pad has a moat. We just thought you should know. [Daily Mail]
  • Fearing that his noisy party had disturbed nearby diners, George Clooney reportedly paid for an adjacent table’s check at a Berlin restaurant. In other news, chivalry is (reportedly) not dead. [Gossip Cop]
  • So, according to Michelle Williams, Destiny’s Child might not be performing at the super bowl after all. When asked about the reunion during a recent interview, Williams said, “That’s not confirmed … I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.” [WRUG/YouTube]

How Cissy Houston learned of Whitney's death

Almost one year to the day after Whitney Houston's death, Cissy Houston is releasing "Remembering Whitney," a book about her daughter's extraordinary life and untimely demise.

While promoting the memoir on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” the 79-year-old gospel singer detailed the moment that she learned Whitney, nicknamed Nippy by her family, had died on February 11, 2012.

“My son called me and he was screaming, ‘Mom, Mommy.’ Then, oh God. I said, ‘What is wrong, what’s wrong?’ He just said, ‘Nippy. Nippy.’ I said, ‘What’s wrong with Nippy?’ … I was getting annoyed because he wasn’t telling me anything. He said, ‘Mommy.’ I said, ‘Is she dead?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, Mommy, she’s dead.’ And I don’t remember too much else after that.”

Fey told CNN backstage after the SAG Awards ceremony on Sunday, where she picked up the honor of best female actor in a comedy, that she does have a deal in place with NBC to develop more shows. First and foremost, though, she'll be doing more movie work; "The Muppets" sequel begins filming in London in March.
