Kelly Clarkson's Inauguration Day diaryAfter nailing her performance of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" at the inauguration ceremony on Monday, Clarkson let her fans in on the backstage experience.
"I was incredibly nervous and cold ha!" the original "American Idol" posted of her performance yesterday. "What an honor to be a part of history! Obama's presence was powerful and his words unforgettable. It's a proud day for America!" Clarkson, 30, got in a few photos with other famous faces, including fellow Texan Beyonce, who was there to sing the national anthem:
And, of course, Mr. President:
(This one didn't make her Twitter feed, but we're still laughing over the picture of former President Bill Clinton photobombing Clarkson.) Later that night, Clarkson got red-carpet ready in Oscar de la Renta:
To enjoy the festivities with her fiancé, Brandon Blackstock:
And according to Clarkson, the First Lady makes an excellent host. "Just partied at the White House ....I kid you not, Michelle Obama stood up and got the party started," Clarkson tweeted. "seriously cool First Lady." |
About this blog
Our daily cheat-sheet for breaking celebrity news, Hollywood buzz and your pop-culture obsessions. |
Kelly Clarkson has the most gorgeous voice. She made America proud. Her voice gives me chills. She is a lovely role model for everyone. Powerhouse vocals and sweet as apple pie! Great job, Kelly!!!!
letting me know she heard my cd skp in the car.....teenager
desperate is the word...
So, apparently if one wants to find the president, one only has to look for all of the celebrities that are popular with 20 year olds. Reminds me of my ex husband – he always liked name dropping, and hanging around with people younger, and far less intelligent, than he.
Is this really any way to run a country?
The remark of a still hurting republican who has yet to get over the fact that you loss! You sound so pathetic.
At least she sang live, no excuses about landing late at night and temperatures, way to go girl!
and have no life maybe i'll go see midge for coffee later .... hahahaha
Sissy music for a sissy generation
look who's talking about fake....77 and 3
Kelly looked beautiful when she sang, her smile showed how amazed and honored she was to be there, good job KC!
Good gig!!
Good girl!
FACT: KELLY CLARKSON IS A REAL ARTIST ....NOT A FAKE..... SHE REALLY CAN SING.....
THE PRESSURE WAS GREAT SINGING TO THOUSANDS...BUT SHE DID IT....
A REAL ARTIST DELIVERED THEIR BEST....THE REAL DEAL.
I saw a clip from a recent interview with NY Senator Charles Schumer, where he talked briefly about being a huge fan of Kelly Clarkson's. He became a big fan of hers and only afterward found out she'd been an American Idol winner. I myself am a big fan of Schumer's, and I found this revelation to be utterly delightful. If you'd asked me, I'd have said he must be a fan of Mozart, Puccini and George Ballanchine, or however he spells his name. But a fan of country music? Didn't see that one coming at all. Absolutely delightful that people are unpredictable.
She did a wonderful job. all the people with the rude ccomments remember god hears everything youu say and you will be held accountable on judgement day.
mmmmmm pizza i want some i say horay to pizza and fries yayyyyyyyyyyy
What an odd comment. Are you okay?
Damn-I thought the article was about Kelly Clarkson's diarrhea, not her diary...
Her diarrhea would be way WAY more interesting to read about.

were right–its both
collaborated
Chris- My thoughts exactly!
Michelle – cool? Please. She's trash.
Just because you do not care for the First Lady does not require you to be so rude. The First Lady is far from trash. However your comment might fit that description.
Jealous much? Hee-hee!
sooooo what happened with you backing Ron Paul.............you realize he didn't have a chance and just switched to the winning team!
