Selena Gomez covers 'Cry Me A River'If you've lost track of whether Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are "on" or "off," Gomez's recent performance at a UNICEF benefit concert Saturday might say it all. The 20-year-old actress/singer took a page from Bieber's playbook and performed a cover of Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River." Bieber performed the song in November, right at the height of the rumors that the pop star pair had broken up.
"This song definitely speaks to me," Gomez said before she launched into the song, which describes a hurt lover telling an ex to "cry a river" over their dissolved relationship. According to Us Weekly, Gomez added ahead of her rendition that she's "been through a lot the past few months. It's been weird and sad and cool." But if Gomez did have a breakup on her mind, she didn't let it show on the red carpet. Before she performed, Gomez spoke with reporters on the risks she's taking both on-screen, with her new movie "Spring Breakers," and off-screen. "I'm a little bit more mouthy," she told Us Weekly. "I'm a little bit older. I've got a little more sass. ... Everything happens for a reason, so enjoy every moment." For a reminder, here's Bieber's performance. Who do you think had the better cover?
