Ratings in for Oprah Winfrey's interview with Lance ArmstrongIt was hard to ignore the equal opportunity present in Oprah Winfrey's interview with Lance Armstrong, the first part of which aired on OWN Thursday night. While the "Oprah's Next Chapter" episode was all about Armstrong and his troubles, Winfrey did have something to gain: exposure for her still-growing network.
In the end, 4.3 million tuned in to watch Armstrong's admission that he did use performance-enhancing substances. According to a statement from the network, 3.2 million watched the interview at 9 p.m., making that the second highest OWN telecast to date. An additional 1.1 million caught the interview at 10:30 p.m. The top telecast for OWN was the March 2012 "Oprah's Next Chapter" episode that featured Whitney Houston's family, including the late singer's daughter, Bobbi Kristina. That episode was watched by 3.5 million. The second half of Winfrey's interview with Armstrong airs tonight on OWN at 9 p.m. ET.

After the disgrace of Armstrong admitting he took drugs and cheated, should all astronauts now have to face regular drug tests? Also, are astronauts good at cycling because of the zero-G?

I don’t normally watch OWN, but several of my coworkers at DISH and I were glued to the TV when they came over Saturday night to watch the interviews I recorded. Many of them hadn’t even heard that Lance was going to interviewed, let alone confessing, so I have a feeling that a lot of people didn’t know, which is why the ratings weren’t as high. I’ll probably keep the interviews saved for a bit longer since I’m never strapped for recording space now that I have 1,250 SD or 450 HD hours worth of space on my new DISH Hopper.

He sued many people for telling the truth about him and ruined many lives. He cannot repair his public image. He needs to find another line of work. Personally, anyone who feels nothing whille cheating and didn't mind stepping on people has something wrong with them. Integrity is an all the time thing – you either have it or you don't – he doesn't and he cannot be trusted.

He may not be a murderer or a rapist and he did do good things with his charity but he most definitely is NOT a good man. He's a liar and a cheat of EPIC proportions. It's interesting, albeit disgusting, to watch the commentary about Lance Armstrong being so MUCH more vehement and angry and unforgiving than commentary about child molesters, murderers, or even Bernie Madoff (remember him?).
Lance Armstrong is merely a bike racer, not a politician or priest, financier or any other false god. If he is viewed as such it's because YOU made him into one. His record of wins is as real as any other bike racer who used enhancement drugs (which is most of them apparently) and his record of raising awareness and funding for cancer research is far more important, germaine and long lasting as a legacy than winning laps on a bicycle. Sports fanatics in this country and across the world stand to learn a lesson from this. He's just a human competing in human games, to win. Now it's time to cut him some slack and allow him to BE human.
This man deserves to have a large steaming pile of poop deposited on his forehead and I'm just the person to make the delivery.

Lance Armstrong does not strike me as anyone, to do anything, unless its for HIS benefit! Maybe he made a deal with the Justice Dept.? After all, he defrauded the Federal Government by defrauding the Post-Office , i.e. the Taxpayer! He opened himself up to a host of other problems as well with his admission, so, I believe there's a lot more going on than meets the eye! For me, as a person, Lance Armstrong is FINISHED!! – @Marita.
To me Lance didnt seem very appologetic or remorseful. We as human beings only do behaviors based on rewards, so the real question I find myself asking is why is he coming clean (no pun intended) now? He wont be able to compete anymore no matter what he says or doesnt say, so what is the payoff for being honest about the doping scandel now? I am someone who is very forgiving and understand him trying to repair his public image, but in order for him to do so I think he needs to truly be sorry for what he has done... but in my personal opinion after watching last nights interview Lance lacked true remorse for what he did. And i feel like the "doping" wasent as big of a deal as it was for him to consistantly lie and go on the attack over the period of years not to mention sue the people who were trying to hold him accountable. Lance really fell short of the redemption I think he was hoping for with this interview. I will tune in tonight to see if perhaps he can still change my mind, but if it goes anything like last night I think Lance should have just taken the truth to the grave with him.

He is paying the price for his misdeeds and has been stripped of all awards.
