Michael J. Fox on the idea of his son dating SwiftOne of the funnier parts of the Golden Globes, aside from a supposedly drunk Glenn Close, was when Tina Fey called out Taylor Swift and told her to stay away from Michael J. Fox's son, Sam. It's presumed Fey was joking, and we never did get to see whether Swift was really trying to talk to Sam at the Awards or not. If she was, however, Sam might want to prepare a better introduction for his dad.
When New York Magazine's Vulture brought up the memorable moment to the elder Fox at a book party and asked if he would approve of the two dating, the actor said, "No. No .... Just back off." Perhaps part of the problem is that Fox only seems familiar with Swift's songwriting reputation - he admitted that if his son brought Swift home for dinner, Fox "wouldn't even know who she was." "I don't keep up with it all," he said. "But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career."

Taylor is young and pretty and famous so everybody is going to be trying to date her or "mate her". How many times have famous women married men who were strongly pursuing them for the personalities and lifestyles not to work out ?
Taylor, my advice...take it slow, and really really get to know the person and all those around them. Keep the dating on the safe side and don't put your heart into someone too fast. Some will come after you for their own self fame, or for money, or clout. I pray through faith in Jesus Christ, one day you will find the right person.

Look at M.J. Fox and Tracey Pollan. They are celebrities with a marriage that not only survived hollywood but extra struggles with Michael's Parkinsons'. That is quite an accomplishment by 2 people in this day and age. They should

I think Michael has done a good job of keeping his family out of the media circus. They brought their kids and probably did not expect any advances from Taylor towads their son. I believe he was just being a protective father. Very understandable. If my Taylor wanted to date my son, I would suggest to him that he decline. Who wants a pop song written about you after the end of a relationship. I know Taylor is a signer and she is certianly not the first to write songs about her love life. I just wouldn't recommend if my it was my son.

I think the issue here isn't Taylor Swift, it's that they are asking him about his son, which he probably considers hands off for media questions.
Michael J. Fox doesn't want his son getting hurt and then a song written about him. As a grandfather I can tell you it is not just the girls who get their hearts broken. Michael just sounds like a protective caring Dad.
Just a dad looking out for his kid. No parent wants to see their kid dragged through the mud in front of the entire country. Taylor makes money off of kissing and telling. I wouldn't want my son to date her either.

On the topic of the article... anyone over 25 might wonder who Taylor Swift is. All I know is what the comedians say about her and most of it is ridicule regarding her dating choices and her penchant for describing it all in her songs. It's not good to be the object of such ridicule... no way to build a career.
