Jessica Simpson launches new comedyJessica Simpson is moving into scripted TV. A rep for the singer/actress confirms that Simpson has landed a semi-autobiographical comedy with NBC.
The show's based on a pitch from Robin and Nick Bakay, who drew inspiration for the concept from Simpson’s real life. Nick Bakay (“Paul Blart: Mall Cop”) will write the script. “I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life,” Simpson said. “So between the real life elements and a great team of writers, I think we'll have people laughing!” NBC did not provide any details about the show’s name or premiere date at this point. Universal Television and Electus are co-producing a pilot. Simpson is an executive producer on the show along with her father and manager, Joe Simpson, as well as Nick Bakay and Electus’ Ben Silverman. “From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica's character approach a variety of 'everyday' circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud,” said Silverman, who is the founder and chairman of Electus, in a statement. Simpson added that she’s “so excited to work with Ben and NBC again, this time on a scripted comedy.” The star's been spotted on reality television several times, recently participating as a mentor on NBC’s “Fashion Star” in 2011. She also appeared on the VH1 documentary reality series “Jessica Simpson’s The Price of Beauty” in 2010, and starred on MTV’s “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica” with ex-husband Nick Lachey from 2003 to 2005. |

luv jess!! will be watching her show!!
Oh My God, I cant believe that she is actually being offered a show. I could see her sister Ashley, she has talent but Jessica. I am so sick and tired of seeing, hearing and watching anything to do with her. She has no talent and isnt funny is the least bit. Did anyone what her Xmas special she was married, she acts just like a limp noodle. Also, her comments, he keeps knocking me up, I guess I'll have to keep my legs closed. What a loser. NO TALENT, give the show to Ashley. Sorry for the long message, Im just so tired of anything to do with her.
good luck jess...hpoe ratings stay up
AhHHHHHHHH...NOOOOOOOO not another reality show for her...come on she bombed it with Nick Lachey. When will these directors learn...she's not funny...she's just ditzy and no talent!
I want to toss those fun-bags around for awhile. Why do all these nerds get to touch her insides with their jlzz?
we love her! good luck with the show!
She will do fine regardless how well the show does. She can afford for the show to flop, it wouldn't hurt her in the least. Its mostly just a way to keep her name relevant on the airwaves and TV. That is all a celebrity must do – prove they are still alive. I wish her luck and success.
Love Jessica she seems like such a sweet heart.
A sweetheart...with a poop in her hair...
THAT GIRL WOULD LOOK BETTER WITH DO0 D00 IN HER HAIR. SMILE.
Indeed. A poop laden with corn niblets. That's hot.
I have a strong desire to acquire a pair of her soiled diapers, throw them in a pot of boiling water and make a tasty soup.
This story makes me want to poop. Headed over to my neighbor's pool.
Should be a blast. Good Luck ! !
If you want comedy from Jessica Simpson all you have to do is hand her a can of Chicken of the Sea tuna and ask her if it's chicken or tuna.
hahaha!
she won't be here much longer....yawn if you know what i mean
Why is she still around? She has no talent or appeal. Her face is no good anymore because she puts on gallons of make-up
how goes it...
women need to get some beauty tips from her...look at that face.
Her face really is so beautiful......FOR ME TO POOP ALL OVER!!!!!!
Paul Blart was pretty dark for a comedy.
all good - kay?
your my fantasy manly–enjoy!
this won't even make it a full season before it's cancelled.
hands down love jessica.
You do realize she was famous BEFORE Kelly Pickler... right?
will do fine–she is very funny.
Oh, for the love of all that is holy, NO!
Let's not forget what a train wreck "Newlyweds" was. And remember Jessica, we're laughing AT you not with you...
Its it tunafish in can? I have to take a poop. Oh I just farted. Lines from Newlyweds. Yep total bomb. Nick was gone after that. it just was a mess. Jessica should just stay away from reality shows now that she has a family and if she wants to stay married.
I love your comedy.
She is yucky. Just a Kelly Pickler wannabee.
