Like father, like son.
It turns out that Johnny has mommy issues just like Dr. Thredson did.
Wednesday night's "American Horror Story: Asylum" was probably the best episode of the series, if only for the cinematography alone. (For example, that split-screen between Lana and Thredson, as well as that shot from the point of view of the lunch cart. There was lots of great camera work this week.)
But back to the Thredsons. In the present day, we saw the new "Bloody Face" pay for a prostitute who just recently had a baby. He told her about how his mother hated him. (In one scene we went back and forth between the 1960s and today, which only highlighted how much better Zachary Quinto is than Dylan McDermott.)
Back in the '60s, Lana got her ticket out of the asylum thanks to Judy blabbing to Mother Claudia. She made it out with a tape which would incriminate Thredson. Her big exit, giving the one-finger salute to Thredson, was priceless.
She confronted Thredson at his home, and finally got her revenge after he threatened her (and described her girlfriend's death), shooting him in the head as the police arrived. It was one final extraordinary scene between Quinto and Sarah Paulson.
Lana was now famous, finally writing up that expose of the asylum and "Bloody Face." She also tried to have an abortion, but stopped it at the last moment, saying, "No more death."
The episode ended much as it began, as Lana – against her original plans – nursed her newborn son, looking up at a cross above her bed.
Kit, meanwhile, had been able to distract Thredson long enough for Lana to get away from the asylum. He was rewarded by the fact that he was now a free man, having been cleared of suspicion in the murders. He was also able to get Grace free, and got his baby back as well. (Still a bit odd that no one else seems to question how quickly that baby was born.)
Despite his belief that his wife was gone forever, Kit found her holding another baby in the house he was planning to share with Grace. Yeah, that was a shocker, but the entire Kit story arc is still difficult to figure out.
Judy, however, was still in the asylum and Lana was unable to repay her by setting her free. Monsignor Howard claimed that Judy committed suicide. Instead, she was in the basement of the asylum, in solitary. Once Judy threatened to expose the Monsignor, her fate was sealed.
So we've got two episodes to go, with a lot of plotlines almost resolved. The aliens, and the final fate of Judy and the asylum still hang in the balance. At least it seems to be going out on top.

i LOVE AHS!!
this one is even better then the first episode and that was great!!
this all just keeps me waiting for more!!
i hope the episodes just keep coming, great imagination and story telling, how do they come up with this stuff?!
SJDAVID if DISH sucks get Direct TV, a whole lot better. dont be so pitiful
got is that guy cute.
I'm only sorry that it turns out that "PEPPER" had died. She and Sister Judy/Judy could have been 2 great forces of good working together. I hope that Lana Banana does the honorable thing and keeps her promise to go back for Sister Jude. Otherwise, Lana has basically traded in her soul for fame and money! I agree that Dylan McDermott is nowhere near as mesmerizing as was Zachary Quinto portraying Dr. Thredson. Enough of Dylan McDermott already – I found him completely boring in Season 1 as well. I felt no empathy for him in that season either! But I hope, in addition to Jessica Lange returning next season, that the wonderful Lily Rabe will be back and also Naomi Grossman, who was terrific in her portrayal of "Pepper"!

Only 2 epi's left, what a bummer. This has been another good season for AHS. Looking forward to #3.
Kit does question Grace on how the baby was born so fast. Grace replied by saying that alien time moves much more quickly than ours and that it felt like 100 years for her. oh, and I guess it's cool to live with an ax murderer.( Grace?) How is she going to react to sharing Kit with Alma. Hmm.
I love this show, obviously.
Loved the episode, loved each storyline resolution, but especially loved the camera work. It was flawless!!
if the mommy is a ho she got to go...
It was an excellent episode. I have really enjoyed how full all of the episodes have been this season. I hope the show keeps this season's pacing throughout the rest of the seasons.
Yeah, the rest of us with cable, internet, or U-Verse can do that too. DISH sucks.
