'Skyfall' surpasses billion dollar mark

The team behind the latest James Bond movie can pop bottles for more reasons than the new year.

"Skyfall" crossed the $1 billion mark in worldwide sales on Sunday according to The Hollywood Reporter. According to the publication the film has so far grossed $289.6 million in the U.S. and $710.6 million internationally making it the highest grossing film in Sony's history and the first from that company to cross the $1 billion sale threshold.

Skyfall is one of only 14 films to have ever grossed more than a billion dollars. This year it follows "The Avengers" and "The Dark Knight Rises" which grossed $1.51 billion and $1.08 billion respectively.

In these days dollars are cheaper and billions more common so no surprise, it shows us the devalue not the value.
