Frank Ocean just might write a novel nextWith six Grammy nominations and one of the best albums of the year to his name, Frank Ocean sounds ready to explore new territory. The "Sweet Life" singer told the U.K.'s Guardian that to him, storytelling "is the most interesting and challenging" aspect to creating music, "so much so that I might not make another album," he said. "I might just write a novel next. I don't know!"
That's not to say that he's done with music, but rather that his dreams are still evolving. "You know, I gotta answer those questions for myself day by day. I don't intend to stop making music. This isn't a faux retirement. ... I was just making music yesterday," Ocean said. "But I do think – it would be f*****g legendary if I just made 'Channel Orange' last year, then put out a best-selling novel next year, then, you know, designed an arena in Stockholm in 2014! I don't know! You just do what you can and you have as much fun as possible, and love your life as much as you can ... As long as your intentions are solid, and about growth and progression and being productive and not being idle, then you're doing good in my book." Whatever he does, it's clear that he has excellence in mind. "I'm about being the best ... [I]f you're gonna be playing this video game, you might as well win, right?" he told the paper. "In art, at a certain level, there is no 'better than.' It's just about trying to operate for yourself on the most supreme level, artistically, that you can and hoping that people get it. Trusting that just because of the way people are built and how interconnected we are, greatness will translate and symmetry will be recognized." |

TALENTLESS THUG. NOBODY CARES.
My goodness there are some haters here! Frank Ocean has great talent, and I can't wait to see more from him whether more beautiful songs or a novel! Go on, Frank!
Because you're so gd smart about everything...except when to shut the h*ll up.
You might? Wow.... maybe first tell us who the hell you are, before doing anything.
"It's just about trying to operate for yourself on the most supreme level, artistically (or otherwise), that you can and hoping that people get it. Trusting that just because of the way people are built and how interconnected we are, greatness will translate and symmetry will be recognized." -Frank Ocean
Deep!
Maybe he should write a second hit song first, one hit does not make a career.
Just because you aren't musically intelligent doesn't mean that he isn't talented. If you would have listened to Channel Orange you would realize that he has way more than just one hit song. And if you were to do any sort of looking around on the internet you would've learned that "Thinking About You" is not a new song. Just because its just getting popular now doesn't mean its his only good song. People such as yourself shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion on music.
@ Kevin
Let me educate you. If you're going to respond, do it using my actual words. 1) No where did I say he wasn't talented, did I? I did not, because he is talented. 2) I liked his Nostalgia Ultra – Novacane, SwimGood, Love Crimes. And I heard that soon after it was released not after Channel Orange like most. 3) I know Thinking About You is old, I also know a singer named Bridget Kelly recoded it first (he wrote it for her), did you know that? I like her version more. 4) Thinking About You IS his ONLY hit song. A song being good or you liking it does not make it a "hit." A hit is when a song reaches the Top 40 (preferably Top 20) on the charts, not because you like it. So, with that factual definition – he's only had ONE hit song. I like other songs on C.O. – Sweet Life being one, but they are not hits. He's talented, no doubt, but Nostalgia was better – TO ME and to me he should put out more actual hits before getting ahead of himself. The facts are: he's talented and only had one hit. Happy New Year.

I love all of frank oceans mudic. What does him coming out have to do with his music or writing a novel. Based on the article it seems to me hes just someone blessed enough to be able to reach his goals and its. Made him very insightful. Kudos Frank!!!
How do you write a novel in an out-of-tune falsetto?
So it will involve all gay characters doing gay things along a gay theme? Option it for Glee and Broadway TODAY.
I have no idea who Frank Ocean is.
I love to read, but won't be reading anything written by this punk. I guess he thinks he's all that since Americans have put him on a pedestal for coming out.
Mr Ocean will have much more intellectual readers without you.
