What the first "Lone Ranger" trailer had in tight pacing and explosions, the second clip has in plot.
The full trailer for next summer's "Lone Ranger" landed on Tuesday, and it gives us a luxurious two-and-a-half minutes to see how Armie Hammer's Lone Ranger, John Reid, and Johnny Depp's Tonto first started on their quest to deliver justice.
Thanks to the Ranger's rapid-fire questions about how came to wake up alive and covered in dirt, Tonto gives us the backstory.
"I buried you," Tonto tells our titular cowboy. "Eight men rode into canyon. I dug seven graves. Horse says you are a spirit walker, man who has been to the other side and returned. A man who can not be killed in battle."
Given that people think John Reid's dead, Tonto says it's better if it stays that way - hence the mask our Wild West hero wears.
Depp is re-teaming with director Gore Verbinski for this action epic, which will stride into theaters July 3. Has the full trailer enticed you to check it out?
