When you think about it, R. Kelly's epic "Trapped in the Closet" series was destined for this all along.
Multiple chapters, plenty of drama and it's in song - a hip-hopera, in fact - so what better place to see it all unfold than the Great White Way?
If that sounds like your dream stage performance, R. Kelly has good news. The musician revealed on Monday that he "just got an offer from Broadway to do a Broadway version," according to Gawker.
The news came at the IFC New York premiere of new installments of his "Trapped" saga, which are set to air for the rest of us on Friday at 9 p.m. ET.
"'Trapped in the Closet' is an alien," the "scientist of music," as Kelly reportedly called himself, told those gathered. "I'm glad to be one of the astronauts to take this trip to a place unknown."
Now up to Chapter 23, Kelly noted that he couldn't make guarantees about a Broadway production, seeing that he's the only one crafting additional chapters and they do take a while to compose.
But while we wait to see if "Trapped" makes its way to Broadway, you can refresh your memory of "Trapped" on IFC starting at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving day.
