Two anticipated 2013 adaptations, and two new trailers to give us a sneak peek at each.
Let's start with "Admission," which is based on the novel of the same name from Jean Hanff Korelitz. Tina Fey stars as the protagonist, Princeton admissions counselor Portia Nathan.
Fey, who's nearing the end of her run as "30 Rock's" working woman with love life issues, Liz Lemon, is on somewhat similar ground here.
Her Portia Nathan is laser-focused on her career, but life has other plans, like introducing her to a gifted boy who could be the son she gave up for adoption, as well as bringing a more laidback love interest (played by Paul Rudd) her way.
"Admission" opens March 8, but before that arrives in theaters, fans of the young adult novel "Beautiful Creatures" will have gotten their fill of Warner Bros. cinematic take.
In a new trailer that offers an extended look at the project, which stars Alice Englert as the mysterious and bewitching Lena, and Alden Ehrenreich as Ethan, the boy who falls for her, we get a better sense of the love story that unfolds in this darkly beautiful tale.
But what's really drawing us to this film extends beyond the story and into its casting, which boasts Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons and Emmy Rossum.
"Beautiful Creatures" opens February 13, just in time for Valentine's Day.
