We’ve met Beverly Hofstadter and Mary Cooper, we’ve video chatted with Mrs. Koothrappali, and we’ve heard Mrs. Wolowitz’s voice boom through our TVs.
Now “The Big Bang Theory” is introducing us to Bernadette’s mother, to be played by Meagen Fay on an upcoming episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Fay is the latest “Roseanne” actress to appear on the CBS sitcom. (Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert have played Sheldon Cooper’s mom Mary and experimental physicist Leslie Winkle, respectively.)
Casey Sander will also revisit his role as Bernadette’s ex-military dad on the December 6 episode.
What do you think of Fay as Bernie’s mom?
Big Bang is a really funny show, we also watch Mike & Molly people lighten up they are only shows love Sheldon is so
funny I love Howard too!
sheldon would be my best friend. He is so funny....
Just don't bring back Rossanne!
he needs to find the right woman - amy is a pig.
is pretty funny.
i agree out with the drudge and in with the fun...
My wife and I have been long term watchers of big bang. It has started to go down hill. We have watched Sheldon and Penny be friends then boyfriend and girlfriend then break out then back together. I think it would be great if Sheldon and Amy would have a child. It could be artifical insemination. Sheldon dealing with a pregnancy and then an infant would be great. The marriage, discussion of having a child who would be perfect, deciding how to have a child, what the deal would be for marriage, the honeymoon. Sheldon is the star of the show and he needs to be developed more.
We have watched Sheldon and Penny be friends then boyfriend and girlfriend then break out then back together. ??????
Learn to PROOF READ before you hit that "post" button there, genius boy.
Sheldon and Penny never dated. It was Leonard.
"Long time viewers" eh?
wouldn't be surprised to see Rosanne and John Goodman make a few appearances... i miss the Rosanne show and it would be cool to see a kinda reunion of sorts for the Rosanne cast on this show :-)
i think betty white should play the grandma of sheldon the one thats always stressed
Yes, she is great and always funny.
Enjoyed her work on Roseanne as the Snooty uptight Neighbor and on that 70's show, etc, etc... good!
I am sure that the actor selected for the role of Bernadette's mom will be great. Respectfully though, my first thought was to approach Carol Kane for the part.
hahaha... carol kane: perfect!!!
it would be a blast to see Carol Kane bring her zany Taxi character with the foreign language and accent, It would certainly give this show a huge boost :-)
There all a bunch of nerds, who can tell them apart.
Joan Rivers would be PERFECT as Mrs. Wallowitz.
if not we'll be back.
Bernadets dad is not ex-military he is ex-police force. Get your facts right.
I agree. They also left out that Amy Farrah Fowler's mom was seen via video chat
What kind of a person gets bent out of shape over the facts on a TV show? How's the rest of such a pathetic life?
They also left out that Leonard (Johnny) was also on Rosanne. Obviously, a requirement for writing these articles is not research or actually watching the show.
roseanne as howard's mom...just one episode where we get to see his mom in person...i am sure she could do the voice....john goodman as sheldon's dead dad...(flashback)...possibly leonard's dad
I had pictured Bonnie Hunt as Bernadette's mom, but this woman will be great, too!
Megan Fay is actually a good physical match to play Bernadettes mother, facial shape, colloration etc. She is also capable of being quite funny. One of my favorite shows and I thinks she will be an asset. Good luck ms. Fay
The show is amazingly funny if you are a nerd: Incomprehensible if you are not.
I looked up Meagen Fay on IMDB. What the article doesn't mention is her very long list of credits. I don't remember her from Roseanne but rather from Malcolm in the Middle. She is quite an accomplished actress. On another note, Big Bang is my favorite TV show. Its hilarious and Kaley is adorable.
I used to like this show. It clearly had one and then two aspergers charccters, though they didn't identify as such.
But the show started getting mean, and picking on the charectors I liked best.
The last episode I saw had one of the "nerds" confront a childhood bully, only to be bullied by him some more. It ended with Sheldon and the other guy being chased down the streets, and this was played for laughs. I would have been screaming as loud as I could, They acted as if this was normal. After that, I concluded that the show was not funny anymore. Instead of the samrt kids gaining control, the show was showing them being retraumatized, and I'm sure that some of the kids watching felt retraumatizeded as well.
Oh come on, get over it. I was bullied as a kid, pushed around on the school bus, hit, had stuff thrown at me and called names on a daily basis. Time for you to grow up and move on. We are growing into a nation of whiney "pity poor mes". People who have truly been brutalized need the sympathy, but for what is passing as bullying in this country is nothing more than harrassment. When are we going to stop teaching our kids that life is fair or that everyone is a "winner" in everything? Life is tough, buck up people.
One of the nerds can be any one of 7 characters...but I'll let that part go. I hope you realize every episoode can't be "revenge of the nerds," In this case you are referring to Leonard and Sheldon. I cant imagine anything more realistic than an aspergers person confronting a simplistic alpha male and having it end in violence (or their emphatic avoidance of it). That's exactly how it goes in real life...except the nerds usually arent fast enough to get away, hense leonard's "I owe Penny" face tattoo. Im sorry that this brings back traumatic memories for you, to be honest I spent a good deal of time avoiding physical altercations in school, but I understand how the world works and so nothing people do suprises me anymore. If people werent inherently simple and prone to violence, Romeny wouldn't have had 44 million votes. Do you really think the bouncer type characters have to say " wow I never thought of it that way" That's the after-school-special style ending, and nothing makes me more sick to my stomach to see all that Barney the dinosaur nicey-nice nonsense. The world is brutal and people are right there with it in full stride, cutting you off in traffic, cutting you in the deli line and they give you that "what are you going to do about it?" look. Ethan try living in NJ for a week and I bet people seem downright friendly where you are. Please dont hold it against a sitcom (among the least realistic of TV shows next to reality TV or history channel's ancient alien malarkey) when they finally show a realistic reaction. There's a reason aspergers people dont fit in...because they don't. As intelligent as some of them are (and if you include leonard's mom there are 3 in the show) they are totally aloof as to the emotional states of their fellow characters. Shelldon regularly shoots in the dark because he doesnt understand figurative language. It truly is a devastating learning and social disability. If it wasnt for sheldon's idenic memory he'd be working at a grocery store bagging sundries. Im sure he'd do it in a most particular way....Im suprised u also failed to notice that the whole point of the show is Leonard's persuit of the brass ring: Penny, who is a "normie," but is literally the leftovers of all of those alpha males who we detest. In the first season over a dozen guys go in and out of her apt, including 2 who make recurring appearances to be the antagonistic bullies of our heroes. Priya is smarter and prettier than penny, but she doesn't treat leonard particularly well. Even when Leonard (charlie brown) catches a break, he really doesnt. That's the saddest part. He's fighting for scraps...and we're rooting for him. Go Leonard get that stupid naive blonde...(starts with S rhymes with mutt) across the hall. Is that really as good as it gets for him? I hope his character wears a condom.
Stephanie – Right On Girl! Said it perfectly.
and a lovely sweet innocent addition to the show. i wish her well
rack meaning boobs or butt ? boobs yes they are tremendous if we are talking butt report say she is trying bid farewell to it as soon as possible–she's fully aware of what she looks like.
Erm...rack only has one meaning in this context.
That little broad who plays Bernadette has a TREMENDOUS rack
It is a stupid show. No amount of cast changes will ever improve it. Cancel it already, along with the unwatchable "Mike & Molly" and "New Normal".
You obviously have no taste. The 3 funniest shows!
I agree that the New Normal is horrible, but I enjoy Mike & Molly, Big Bang is one of the best out there.
Wow, you got no sense of humor at all! BB Theory is the best show out there and Mike & Molly a close 2nd. I'll bet your fav comedy show is "Dexter"
The best dynamic in that show was Sheldon and Penny in season 2.
I can't place who this person is. They said she is the third, from Roseanne, but who did she play on Roseanne? I can't recall.
She played the Connors' uptight yuppie neighbor.
The "Rosanne" show had about 220+ episodes ... she, Ms Fay, is listed as being in only 4 ... no wonder
I wasn't a big fan of "Cathy" on Roseanne. I would like to see the lady who played "Crystal" come on the BBT. She was hilarious!! All those "pink squirerl" drinks!
People don't read very well. It very clearly says "Bernadette's mom," not "Mrs. Wolowitz." Mrs, Wolowitz (Howard's mother, not Bernadette) will probably never be seen, like Frasier's Maris or Cheers's Vera.
I read that wrong LOL
Mrs. Wolowitz has been described as a very large woman. Are they planning on putting a fat suit on Meagen Fay?
Meagan Fay isn't Mrs. Wolowitz, she's going to play Mrs. Rostenkowski.
Love Big Bang... I'd prefer his mother stay hidden. I think his mom's voice is done by Bernadette and love when
they ( Howard & Bernadette ) holler at his mom. Don't mess with a perfect recipe !! FYI, Penny (Kaley Cuoco ) is Hot & Wonderful !!
actress Carol Ann Susie provides the voice for Howard's mom, although "Bernadette"does a great imitation
they signed on for more seasons...great success to the cast! they are one of a kind.
The article writer forgot that viewers also have met Penny's dad!
I think you have comprehension problems: "Casey Sander will also revisit his role as Bernadette’s ex-military dad on the December 6 episode."
I don't think it is Jill who has the reading comprehension problem here....
I'm sure she'll be another oddball. Chuck Lorre must have had a terrible childhood. Have you noticed, ALL of the mothers on ALL of his shows: Dharma and Greg, Mike and Molly, Two and a Half Men, and the Big Bang Theory. ALL of them are far less than perfect. No Mrs. Beaver or Nelson here.
You mean like most mothers (parents)? I loved my mother but she wasn't perfect.
very funny–i try to catch it when i'm home.
don't feed her...this is all she does. nobody can stand her anyway–
the show will suffer in ratings prior to holidays–there never were ratings.
How can you say there were never ratings? Their ratings have actually increased this year. 2 episodes ago was their most watched ever.
Eww, ALL wrong. It should be a very short, fat older brunette.
Were you a crybaby, poor loser in grade school, too, little boy?
