Robert Pattinson on how to extend 'The Twilight Saga'“The Twilight Saga" is coming to an end, but that doesn't mean it's over. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, who play vampire Edward Cullen and werewolf Jacob Black, respectively, dropped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to promote "Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” which covers the second half of the last book in Stephenie Meyer's series. During the interview, set to air Friday, DeGeneres asked how they plan to capitalize on the franchise's success after the final film is released on November 16. Pattinson said he has some ideas for where his character can go next.
“Mix it up with ‘The Avengers,’ ” Pattinson suggested. “Make it like ‘Twilight/Avengers.’ ” The possibilities are endless, he said, adding, “I was also thinking make it a little like ‘Will & Grace,’ where Edward turns gay, but they still stay together and raise the kid and everything.” “Twilight” author Meyer has stayed mum regarding possible plans for the future. If it's a creative kick-start she needs, we'd suggest giving Pattinson a call.
