Halle Berry chose to wait a while to become a mother, and she told Wendy Williams Thursday that it was a smart choice.
Berry welcomed daughter Nahla, whom she had with ex Gabriel Aubrey, in 2008, just ahead of turning 42. Waiting that long, she said, made her a better parent.
"I'm a much better mother at 46 ... than if I were like, 21 or 25," she said. At that age, "I was just a little baby just trying to figure it out, trying to figure out who I was, let alone having the responsibility of trying to help another little soul develop and grow. I'm so glad I waited."
But Nahla's hoping her mom still wants more kids - so badly, in fact, that she requests it every day.
"Every night, we do our prayers, we pray to God, so sweet, and she says, 'God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister,'" the "Cloud Atlas" actress recalled. "And I say, 'I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we're going to have to keep praying on.' Because what do you say to her when she wants that, and can't understand why God's taking so long?"
